Having lived overseas and travelled extensively we have celebrated our wedding anniversary in places ranging from rural Laos to urban Namibia. How would the US compare? The food was good and the service friendly and efficient. Seafood is my favourite food so I had plenty of choice at this restaurant on Cape Cod. I was not disappointed. One small point - it would be good to get the oil and balsamic vinegar in separate bottles on the table so that they can be mixed on the plate to eat with the dlicious bread. Having them served together in a dish made it impossible to get a reasonable amount of the vinegar. The meal was not cheap and I would be reluctant to spend that much on a regular basis. For us the meal was part of the whole US experience and that made it special for us.

After reading Trip Advisor and expecting a super meal, we were definitely disappointed. Although my baked scallops were exceptional, the rest of the visit was not so good. When we arrived early on a FR night (restaurant was not filled) we were seated next to bathroom doors. There were plenty of other tables open...why seat people next to bathroom doors????? Our waiter seemed more interested in talking to others, and was not too attentive...he was supposedly training some girl, she was pretty much on her own. My husband's tuna, which he ordered rare, was served well done. My broccoli was ice cold.....NO one around to correct problem, so we ate it the way it was. We told them at the end of the meal the problems we encountered...they sent us home w/ a free dessert......oh boy....won't go back.

We expected more from this restaurant based on other reviews. The meal started with interesting bread, but the olive oil that came with it tasted stale and mediocre, and the butter was hard as a rock. The glasses of wine we were served were meager. The chowder was excellent, though, and the oversized spinach salad was good. The seafood casserole was good, but not great. The pan-seared scallops were served with a sauce that was way too sweet on risotto that was way too bland. Huge servings do not make up for mediocre food.

Three years ago I reviewed this restaurant and rated it very highly. I again went to this restaurant in september 2012 and was sadly dissapointed. Service was poor, food was plentiful but the comedy of errors took any good thoughts away. Valet service but no valet to be found. Hostess not at station and took a long time to come to seat you. We definitely will not be back.

We visited here also with our friends while on vacation. The atmosphere is great here and the drinks and appetizers were great. The Chowder was very good (although not as good as mine) and most everyones meals were great - - - a couple of peoples meals were not as hot as they expected, but they were great and heated or substituted other meals in one case. Would definately recomend if you are in the area.
