The train experience on the railroad used to be fun. The train is under new mangement and the experience is not the same. The train is being crewed by management and they are not providing a positive expeience. They do not know how to work the pa system, control the volume and when playing music you either have it blaring or not at all. The person running the snack bar is inept, the staff running the group department are incompetent, the food service is non existent. When i complained to customer service about the lack of service there was no response. When i complained to management about how my guests were unahappy the response was we will look into it. Rather then try and resolve issues the new management prefers to make excuses for bad service and insufficent untrained staff. There are lots business on the cape where you can get much better value for your dollar. It is one thing to make an error, another when the mangement prefers to make excuses for incompetence, then to make customers happy.

“Rail and Sail - What a deal!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

While visiting Cape Cod a few weeks ago, my co workers and I took advantage of the rail and sail attraction. Great tour guides on both occasions. The rail experience offered Sunday Brunch. Great deal for the money! I enjoyed the scenic tour of the Cape Cod area and the Harbor experience around the Kennedy Compound. Cape Cod is one to see. An unforgettable experience!!

“Elegant Date Night!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

This was a wonderful experience!!! We decided to take my brother and sister-in-law for an evening out. It was great to dress up, eat delicious food and view spots on the cape you normally wouldn't see. It is pricey but worth it. They also take a "date" photo that cost extra but came out beautiful. A great thing to do for a special occasion. One thing to note, if you aren't going with 4 people you will be seated with 2 strangers. You can pay extra for a 2 person table. Enjoy!

“For train enthusiasts”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

The train was well maintained but both bumpy and noisy. There wasn't really much to see as the trees were still green so therefore a bit disappointing. There was a friendly basic coffee and snacks service on board. I would only recommend for train enthusiasts and kids who would love it.

“Pleasant Evening on the Dinner Train”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We had a relaxing evening dinner with friends on the CCCR. It was a beautiful early fall night, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The train and cars are very interesting and authentic. The scenery is nice, and if you are a train lover you'll enjoy it. If not....your mileage may vary. The train does sway and when it gets up to speed it can be bumpy and loud. Just the way vintage trains should be!

The meal? First, I realize that the chances of encountering fine dining on a tourist railroad are very low. If you're lucky you'll get something decently prepared and competent service. That's what we got. The dinner service did start out slow as the wait staff tried to get everyone's drink orders at once. As far as the meals, they were unspectacular but satisfactory. They did a nice job cooking the apsaragus just right, but they put too much sauce on everything.
