“Great French food-a bit pricey but worth it!”
Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

I've had the pleasure of coming here twice- once for coffee & Danish, and once to take my sister for a special lunch. Both times were great. The food is fabulous, a bit pricey, but worth it, as it is a little bit of France. It feels like you are doing something special. Both times it was busy, but gave the ambiance of a happy buzz. It felt like there wasn't enough staff on duty, which may be in part to both times having been in the winter.

“The food is truly excellent but the price leaves something to be desired”
Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Food and the atmosphere make this a truly high quality restaurant but this is not New York.. just by looking at the wine list you can see the proprietor of this restaurant is focused on making money and not offer options for average person.

“Hidden Gem...Find it and you'll Never Forget it”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Nestled in the most unlikely spot near the Barnstable airport, Pain D'Avignon transports you to a chic, upscale European cafe. EVERYTHING is of the highest quality. Lunch is casual, eat in, take out, or in good weather, enjoy on their cozy outdoor patio. Dinner is a "foody's" delight, with creative gourmet offerings. A comfortable carved-wood bar completes the experience...but then there is THE BREAD!

A large panoramic window in the back of the restaurant looks into the artisan bread bakery which supplies extraordinary creations to exclusive Manhatten restaurants as well as local Cape Cod markets. Breads are also available for purchase on-site. After our wonderful meal, which was worth every penny of the significant price, our check was paid, a handsome tip for outstanding service, but WE were rewarded with a fresh loaf of bread for home!

“Great place for a nice lunch”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

My husband and i stopped by yesterday for lunch and we both had a fried scallop sandwich with toppings, house made chips and sauce. Very good. The bread is wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy and we wished we'd had two stomachs so we could sample all of the baked goods. We went back today and picked up some biscotti and a baguette. Wine is available with lunch. We wish they were open for dinner on the days we were at the Cape.

“Out of this world!”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

We were given a gift certificate to Pain D'Avignon and finally stopped in for coffee, or so we thought! We had to sample some of the breads that they offered and ended up staying for lunch. The food was incredible - we had sandwiches and salad. Everything was very fresh & extremely tasty. The prices were on the high side, but I'd say the experience outweighed the issue! We have been back several times and plan to take clients when they are in town.
