Easy on, easy off. Arrived there early, so we stopped in for a quick bite at the diner. PACKED with families that were getting bites for the kids before the trip. The bathrooms are clean, though. Also an ATM.

The boat was easy to get on and off. We picked up a first class ticket to go over. We dropped off our luggage early, and were able to walk around the dock for a half hour. The in classes on the ship in first class is-air conditioning, you can sit outside in the very front of the boat like Titanic, and there are a few comfortable couches to sit on. If those things aren't important to you, save the $ 10/ticket.

We boarded on time, and when we got into first class, there were the snooty, turned up nosed people who were laying down on the whole couch that fit 8 people to sit on. Others who arrived early tried to take up 4 seats to themselves. When we asked if we could sit in 2 of the seats they put their luggage on, it was an imposition for them. I guess this is what you expect from island residents, so full of themselves. It didn't bother us in the slightest.

The bloody mary's from the bar were a good way to start the trip, but they are $ 10 each in a plastic cup. A bit expensive for what you get, but they have a captive audience. Bring your own food and drink for the 1 hour trip. The couches were nice and comfortable on the return trip.

It was a nice crisp morning, and we went outside to enjoy the fresh air. One nice perk was passing the slower ferries, and seeing the faces of all their passengers that wished they were on our boat. Easy off, and our luggage was waiting for us the minute we stepped off the ship.

To my followers:

If the weather is bad, or it is a really hot day, spend the $ 10 and get a first class ticket. It is worth it.
Also, the parking is bad, and lots fill up quick. If you get there early, there is a house down the street that have parking for $ 5 less per day, but you have to coordinate dropping off your passengers, bags, etc, and it really isn't worth it.

Yep, it's expensive to ride the fast ferry...but it is on time and reliable and, well, fast. This was our first time to Nantucket, and we only had one day, so the fast ferry seemed a natural choice. All staff with whom we spoke were friendly and helpful. We did make a reservation a couple weeks before for both our tickets and our parking. Highly recommend resos in the high season. We rode the 9:10 ferry, which boarded about 20 min prior to departure. I'd recommend arriving 30-40 minutes before. We took the 4;35 return ferry which was right on time and "line-up" for boarding was about 30 min before departure. The interior was cool and comfy, the outside seats were very windy - b/c it's the fast ferry! We sat outside there and inside on the way back. Both fine. Did not take advantage of snack bar on this ride. This boat is pet friendly, so my son enjoyed chatting up the dog owners. A pleasant experience overall. Thanks Hy-Line!

A crossing with this line is very high priced. You're first met with unfriendly parking staff on the official parking lots tossing you into the hands of independent parking lot who charges the double price. First feeling you get here I somewhere between being unwelcome or simply being exploited.

Then you face the even more expensive ferry tickets. Oh dear, getting to Martha's Vineyard cost quite a lot.
Certainly it is something that makes me being reluctant about returning here.

Only money matters here.

Fast ride from Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard. Comfortable seating inside or out. If you don't mind walking, park for FREE on North St in Hyannis. It's just a short (15 minute) walk down Ocean St to the docks.

Going to Nantucket on these boats should be fun and simple. It's just not.

- Fast boats are available to get you there within an hour.
- High-speed Internet is available on the boat.

- RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Even the slower boats are expensive. I've taken ferry rides to other places, and this one was half the price of my PLANE TICKET to Boston.
- You don't know where to go at the harbor. I stopped at one place, and this was for another company. They directed me over to Hyline. Once there, they have parking lots across the street, and no one seems to be helping new people out on where to go because this place is a complete zoo. No structure. No order. Employees wandering around aimlessly because they don't seem to have enough employees actually helping out. Yes, the employees were friendly, but it was just very disorganized.
- Parking was expensive ($17 PER DAY when I was there... and on some day it said it was $20 PER DAY). Seriously? After spending $70-80 on a ferry boat ride, you wanna charge that much just to park a car, too?

First, forget parking with this company. Park for $10 down the street and save yourself some cash. Second, rethink going to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard in the first place with this company. They simply charge too much for what you get.
