“Convenience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

This beach is convenient to much of the Boston area, which is to its favor. Also, if you come late in the day, street parking is pretty easy and puts you right at the beach. But - it is not the nicest beach, and the amenities (restaurants, etc) tend toward the low-end and loud. Definitely not the place for a peaceful getaway.

“Too Rocky”

I'm spoiled! I need wide sandy beaches that aren't full of rocks and pebbles. The beach area seemed too commercialized.

“Paragon Carousel at Nantasket a great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

It is sad but there are not too many old carousels left and this is one of the few restored and still standing in New England. This sits in old Nantasket Beach on the corner and looks pretty good for it's age. It is quite large and there are plenty of old style horses to choose from. Tickets are $2.50 each and you can buy a card to ride several times in a row. However the ride is pretty long and I bought a 5 pack but really didn't need it. The parents are free with a paying child. There is also a Paragon Park museum next store which displays some old memorabilia from the days of when there was an amusement park here with a rollercoaster. Overall a treat and the kids will love it! they do take credit cards but be sure to bring cash to park. This area gets plenty busy and it is $10 to park in the lots during the season!

“Great beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Nantasket is a hidden jewel. Three miles of sand on the main beach makes it wonderful for families with kids. When the tide goes out it gives plenty of room for fun. Parking in the State run lots will cost you $10 ($7 for seniors). There are also a number of private lots available, some cheaper. Plenty of places to eat. Check out the old Paragon Carousel or the Dream Machine which are just off the beach.
