There are a variety of hikes to choose from, of various lengths. Some amazing views! Well-marked trails. A favorite place for hikers and locals.

“Lots of shade”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Need a place with beautiful views and cool shaded surroundings which we found at Mt. Tom. Plenty of room to see scenic views, towers to climb, trails to hike etc. Both enclosed restrooms and plenty of Porta pottys available.

“Nature in the city”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

This 2100 acre park in Holyoke is a wilderness gem in a old industrial city. There are twenty miles of hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty - including a section of the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail which stretches from Connecticut to New Hampshire - as well as beautiful views, two observation towers, picnic areas and play fields. Go to Goat Peak for a wonderful vista of the Connecticut River Valley or try the Beau Bridges Trail for an easy walk near a lovely, cascading stream or try the handicap accessible trail along Lake Bray. Easy access off either Route 141 or Route 5. Fees are collected on summer weekends.

“Good variety”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

The views are great here, but would be more impressive in the fall. We went on Easter and there was no one to give us tips, but we found some info online. Went on the M&M trail. The trail map seems good, but does not have estimated distances and times for hikes. We went 45 min in and out toward Mt. Tom and enjoyed it. This is a tough hike. Some scrambling. A lot of steep hiking, especially at the start.

This is a wonderful place for hikers/casual walkers. Many trails and a tower that overlooks the valley. Pond and picnic area nice also.
