We have many beaches in harwichport but bank street beach is one of my favorites along with pleasant rd. beach and red river beach. They have great parking, big beach areas and it is a flat walk from parking to beach (no stairs) .

It gets crowded early on sunny weekends in the summer. In January, not so much. Nice sand and gentle waves. If you drive, go early to get a place to park (paid).

Parking lot goes to beach, no stairs, easy. Has bathrooms and that makes it my favorite. There is a food truck all summer that comes by and ice cream is always good.

Being a town beach, this does not get overly crowded, although the parking lot can fill on a warm summer day. The waves are small, the beach is clean (with a minimal amt of seaweed and shells). There is about a 3 min walk from the parking lot. The waters are the warm nantucket sound and the waves are on the small side. Great beach for kids.
Cost of parking is $65 for week permit, which must be purchased in the village of Harwichport at the visitors center, or $20 per day. The parking permit also gets you access to the other Harwich town beaches, but in my opinion this one is one of the nicer ones.
