Full of seaweed, rough sand and rocks. The seaweed was awful. It is hard to find a place to go into the water that isn't full of the stuff. It's fine if you want to sit by the beach and read. We went once and will not go back. The Cape if full of much nicer beaches.

Not overcrowded and good for paddling! Beautiful sunsets and well kept. Really glad we found this beach and not the crowds.

This beach has become one of the nicest on Cape Cod for family fun. Life Guards, nice sand, but the water is better enjoyed with swimming shoes sold in local stores as there are many small rocks and pebbles. Come visit

This is also a good beach for birdwatchers as there is a nice salt marsh just on the other side of parking lot with a salt river running through- looks like a good spot for kayaking.

I live in Harwich year round and Red River is my favorite place to go to be at the ocean - in any season. It is the longest beach (maybe a half-mile all together) and, while it can get crowded in the summer, you can almost always find a bit of solitude.
The beach faces south, so you get lots and lots of sunshine at almost anytime of day. And the sunsets and clouds can be amazing.
It's great for walking, either on the beach or along the parking lot, though the onshore wind can get pretty fierce.
Behind the beach is a marshy area and, at the east end of the parking lot is a path that leads down to it. If you are brave and do not mind getting your feet wet, you can wade across a tidal stream onto another stretch of beach that is almost always totally deserted.
