28 Atlantic is our favorite restaurant - in the world. The setting is supreme, a most elegant, spacious dining room which overlooks Pleasant Bay, Atlantic Ocean. The silver sparkles, the lights gleam, the tables are Martha Stewart magazine worthy. the service is charming, impeccable without being arrogant.
However, what is our prime reason for going to a restaurant, especially of this caliber? Wonderful, delicious, interesting food. 28 Atlantic is outstanding in its preparation, presentation, and out of the world delicious taste. Our last visit was with friends to celebrate both anniversaries. The maitre'd greeted us by name, guided us to a lovely table and presented us with a handwritten congratulatory card. The outstanding waiter - Tom - brought us champagne to celebrate along with a lovely bread basket. Our appetizers included a scallop dish in a ginger-curry sauce, parsnip-almond chowder with pork belly and a steamer, oysters, and a pear salad. All delicious. Main courses insisted of tenderloin, poached in wine and then grilled, duck breast, and halibut. We all shared tastes, finding one more delicious than the other.. The accompaniments are perfectly matched to the main course - cauliflower risotto, perfect vegetables, mushroom demi place. Deserts were elaborate, complex combinations of exquisite flavors, again presented perfectly. 28 Atlantic is a place to celebrate - events, occasions, and the joy of life itself.
