The place was very pretty and the service was great, but we were a little disappointed in the food. Many of he selections were not all that appealing, and the food, though good, should have been better.

All round a great experience – a destination in its own right, not to be missed.
Warm welcome, informed, well-trained and pleasant servers, great value, fantastic quality – and a view to die for!

We were presented with a complimentary amuse-bouche: roasted golden and red beets with blue cheese and roasted hazelnuts and a variety of artisan breads – sourdough, white, whole wheat, cranberry – with quality butter and olive oil.
Between the two of us we shared two starters and one tasting menu–
Starter 1. Parsnip almond chowder with pork belly $12
Starter 2. Wild mushroom risotto (procini and chanterelles) $17
Menu: Four courses suggested by chef but flexible.$64
Course 1. Two oysters with cucumber granita (ice shavings), carpaccio of watermelon with goat’s cheese, goat’s cheese panna cotta, balsamic vinegar gel, two types of melon foam – sublime.
Course 2. Rolled poached sole with truffle, on roasted corn risotto
Course 3. Caramelized scallops with peas, carrot gnocchi, pea shoots and bacon (substituted for suggested beef tenderloin)
Course 4. dessert - a take on Smores: Dark chocolate torte, crackers, molasses ice cream on brown sugar, burnt meringue cream

Extensive wine list, many by the glass – we chose Eric Chevalier Chardonnay Val de Loire 2011, $32 (imported by Kermit Lynch)

Total, including suggested tip of 18% $157 – money - but excellent value or money.

There are two more restaurants in the hotel, slightly less “fancy” – but I bet equally good.

Not inexpensive, but worth it especially when coupled with their jazz shows in the summer. Food is excellent and the ambiance and views outstanding. We usually go with the pre-fixed menus combined with seating for the jazz festival. Great service.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here celebrating my husband's 50th and sister's 40th. We were a party of 12 and had the private room. Every single thing we all ate was fantastic. Curtis was our waiter and was above and beyond. We are "food snobs" and this meal was by far the besty we have had anywhere on the Cape. We also dined here for breakfast and found it just as good. Thanks for the great time!!

The food and the service are great at Twenty Eight. Couple these with the view of Pleasant Bay if you arrive with at least an hour of daylight you will enjoy a fabulouse evening. Some think it is expensive. It is but, if you have the erge...go ahead and splurge!
