“Delightful Country Outing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2012

The small house sized museums are well done and the interpreters are well informed and helpful. The woodsy walk is easy and fun with lots of contemporary art works scattered along the way. And the house and gardens are a delight for any age to explore. Good food in the restaurant and the view is fabulous.

“Beautiful place, well worth the visit.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

The Fruitlands Museum is a beautiful place overlooking the Wahchusett Valley. Time seems to stop here while you enjoy the museums, nature and art placed throughout the property. The restaurant is also very good for lunch. My husband and I were also married here September 2011 and really loved the venue.

“Good for a mini day trip with the family!”

Wish they also had the people dressed up in the olden days and acting out their parts like at sturbridge village, but still pretty cool to check out for 2 - 3 hours!

“4-in-1 in a 1 of a kind setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2012

The 4 museums at Fruitlands are worth a trip and provide a nice variety of things to see. But what makes it so enjoyable is the setting. It's on a gorgeous hillside with outstanding views. It almost seems a shame to go indoors. You can also hike on some trails here and NOT go indoors. The painting gallery has an excellent collection of Hudson River School landscapes; the Alcott/Lane house of their "failed experiment" is fascinating for anyone who has visited Orchard House in nearby Concord, or has an interest in 19th century Utopian societies. There is also a building with Native American history and artifacts, and the Shaker House. The museum staff and volunteers are friendly and approachable. While we were there today there was a demonstration on how to use an atlatl to hurl arrows, and they let people try it out, which made the participants very happy!

“A jewel in the middle of Massachusetts!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

Not only are the museums interesting (I particularly love the farmhouse inhabited by the Alcott family and utopian followers) ... but the dining area is gorgeous, with panoramic views, and the food is yummy. No wonder that this is the venue for many weddings. It's exquisite!
