It appears they have cut costs by reducing staffing. The Lodge was a pig sty when we showed up for night skiing and there was no evidence of anyone working to maintain the facility. On the slopes there was noone to assist or help and i did not see one ski patrol the whole night.

We love this place in the summer. Every year we have lots of families go as a group. They have slide, ride, and trampolines for youngsters. Segways, ropes, and ziplines for adults and young adults. Nice restaurants in the area and a quiet beautiful setting. However, there really isn't a lot to do in the area besides the park. This place makes a great 2-5 day getaway.

My teenage boys, ages 14 and 16, rated this mountain a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. They've been skiing at Stratton for 5 years and Gore for 2 years prior, so this mountain was like a hill to them. There weren't enough trails (many were closed) or variety. The boys are advanced intermediate level. The mountain was also a bit icy. Since we stayed at a ski-on/ski-off condo, we have no experience with the parking. On the positive, the boys had a good time because they were with friends they had run into from our town and skiing together made it fun. Since the mountain is small, it's easy for everyone to stay together. Food at the lodges is expensive, so pack your own sandwiches, drinks and snacks if you don't want to spend a small fortune.

Skiing closer to NYC, New Jersey, Connecticut... Best of the bunch. Management committed to fun, customer service, community and environment. Been skiing here over 30 years and seeing continuous improvement in facilities and service. Keeps prices low. We ski 4 hours on Sundays with a "value card". Conditions are usually surprisingly better than most "southern" ski areas. Perfect for families too with great ski school.

Now year-round resort - beautiful in every season.
