If you are thinking of going, go. Delicious food, adorable restaurant and friendly staff. Lots of yummy maple sugar treats and small town charm. In the better weather, there is an outdoor animal section for children.
Other treats are offered during the year in the Fall and Christmas time.

“Breakfast on the Farm”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

I was hoping for an experience similar to Parker's Maple Barn in Mason, NH, which is a family favorite, but the Sugar Shack was not quite there. Menu was somewhat limited for breakfast, but you can definitely get your standard french toast, pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The syrup is outstanding, and you can purchase some from the store there. I did not have their freshly made donuts, but they looked good. I think what was probably most disappointing was the ambience in the "restaurant". Basically, it was tables and chairs set up in a large open room in a barn-style building with very bright (harsh) lighting. (By comparison, Parker's feels more like a lodge, with lots of rustic wood and pellet stoves.) I would not make a special trip to go here but was in the area and wanted to try it. Service was good, and when I went (late Feb) there was no wait.

“Good local, homemade food in a rustic setting”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

Had a catered outdoor lunch here as part of a bicycling weekend. The staff was delightful - very warm and accommodating. Everything was fresh, especially the corn and other vegetables. The homemade potato salad was delicious as were the grilled hamburgers and veggie burgers. They made a variety of pies for dessert accompanied by ice cream. The maple walnut ice cream was scrumptious!

“So good.”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

What a great family spot with yummy pancakes, their own maple syrup, eggs, bacon. Delicious and in a neat barn like room. The petting zoo was closed when we were there, but that would be fun for the kids. Open during the sugaring season.
