Review of Brick Wall Bistro - CLOSED

Brick Wall Bistro
Description: Welcome to the home of the new Brick Wall Bistro located at 286 Main Street, Greenfield, MA. 01301. Formerly the Brick Wall Burger, at the same location, the Bistro is not just a burger lover's paradise anymore. We have introduced a much larger and unique menu to include sandwiches, salads, appetizers (check out our very popular corn fritters with local maple syrup.), house made soups, and a whole new dinner menu along with fresh made desserts, featuring Bart's Homemade Ice Cream. We have a beer and wine license and have a full espresso bar.We still grind our meat daily for our grass fed burgers and now offer turkey and spicy salmon burgers along with a black bean burger that is vegan and gluten free. Our twice cooked french fries and sweet potato fries and spicy and regular cole slaw are still a big hit. However please come and try our new sauces and sides to include chimichurri, tropical fruit salsa, chipotle honey salsa, garlic mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, parmesan herb risotto cakes and more. Everything is made fresh on site and we do have something for everyone. Be it Vegan, Vegetarian, Lo Carb, Gluten Free or meat and Fish. "Every Six Weeks" is a program we have started to host here at the Brick Wall Bistro. Every six weeks a new artists hangs their art in our space. Within two weeks of that we host an opening for the artist and public with free passed hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, in addition to our regular menu.Check our face book page for upcoming shows, daily specials and our trivia question of the day for a free meal! The space is available for renting to larger parties. We are a full service catering company, in business over 30 year, celebrating weddings, cocktail parties, holiday parties, birthday's, bar and baht mitzvah's, bachelor and bachelorette parties, showers, clambakes and so much more.Give us a shout and check us out at the new:Brick Wall Bistro286 Main StreetGreenfield, MA. 01301

We went here on a Friday night so it was busy. When you walk in you have to wait to be seated and we stood there for atleast 20 minutes without being acknowledge. A quick hello from a server and that she would be with us as soon as possible would have been nice. When we finally were seated it took quite awhile for our orders to be taken and our drinks to be brought out.

It's a shame the service was so poor because the food was yummy. You can customize your burger to your taste and choose your size of burger, type of meat, and toppings. The homemade ketchup was also tasty.

If you do go, make sure you have a large window of time available just incase you experience the same slow service that I did.

The burgers available at the Brick Wall start with daily ground local meat -- a choice of beef, pork, chicken, corned beef, black bean (gluten free) and portobello mushroom patties -- which can be purchased at a basic price of $7.99 for just the patty with the addition of various toppings from your basic mustard and ketchup (homemade) to blue cheese and grilled onions; prices range from free to $1.00 for toppings. Our only complaint with the toppings was that the ketchup had a very smoky chipolte flavor which we actually didn't care for but there wasn't any other type of ketchup available so that detracted a bit from the fries, white or sweet potato, which are duper chewy and crispy all at once with a nice sprinkling of salt. Then there are the speciality burgers, only one of which we've tried so far and that was the FIREBRICK BURGER with with roasted habaneros, avocado slices, pepperjack cheese and chili garlic sauce. Wifey reports that for anyone who can handle the heat of a habenero, it was excellent. There's the TROWLER'S DELIGHT, a pub-lunch style burger with sliced apple, aged cheddar, stone ground mustard and “Real Pickles”, and the BULL IN THE BRAMBLE with raspberry dipping sauce and romaine lettuce. The speciality burgers are in the $11-15 range but they are a unique and wonderful combination of flavors and themes that seem to work. Service is great, good family place, highly recommend it if you're okay with paying over $10 for a burger.

I like the idea of Brick Wall, and had hoped to be excited about the new restaurant with local food, but I was left disappointed. The burger was ok, but not great, it was over cooked, and when I told the server he gave me a "what do you want me to do about it look". He was also very slow to take our order, and never came back to check in with us. He was not very friendly at all, and the place was not very busy. I might have gone back and given the food another try, but it wasn't worth it with the poor service.

Ruined fresh ground meat by over salting it. Fries also over salted. Service could care less about complaint--told me my burger was not overcooked. Overpriced for what they offer. Don't deserve to be in business. Three strikes and they are out!

You know your sort of mental picture of the perfect burger? It's fresh, tasty meat, dripping with juice, perfectly cooked? This is that burger -- juicy, with a lot of flavor, and nice soft bun. Comes in beef, pork, lamb or veggie. Great choices of toppings and sides -- i particularly enjoyed the fries and spicy coleslaw. A family-friendly, spacious place right in the center of Greenfield, with attentive, friendly service. They expect to get a beer and wine license this month. Bring an appetite -- at 8 oz each, neither one of us could finish our burger.
