The Market is a true gem and a welcome addition to the all-to-heavy fried food scene that dominates Cape Ann dining. The menu varies daily and generally you will see 3 each of starters, entrees, and desserts. The sea food choices, in particular, are remarkable - the freshest of ingredients, simply prepared, and beautifully presented.

Forewarned that this small former fish shack, while beautifully sited, attracts some of the loudest folks in the area. On a bad night it has all the ambiance of your local bar room. What is it about outdoor dining that attracts high decibels?? Turn down the volume folks!

Interesting place. Excellent views as its directly on the water. Food is very good and menu changes daily but very good diversity and healthy mix.

This is a magical, beautiful spot, and here I had one of my better meals of recent times. The food is truly wonderful in the Chez Panisse manner: superb ingredients, carefully prepared but in a way suitable to those ingredients, not over wrought in any way. So it's a special place, but it's not precious or self-conscious in its specialness. Anyway, I loved it. And the service was attentive and friendly and lovely to boot.

Very good food in a lovely setting, especially if you're sitting outside on the deck. Small, somewhat eclectic menu but everything was well-prepared and very tasty. Hard to find if you're an out-of-towner (make sure you have the GPS on for this one) but well worth the trip.

We love the Market, particularly when we arrive by boat. It feels like a place you would find on a Grenoble France back road. We have been a half of dozen times the past 2 years and have never been disappointed. They serve a small Chef's Menu with local ingredients when possible. The vibe and the food is complemented by a better than average wine list and a really great staff. Tonight, 2 of us had scallops and 2 fried chicken (wow!). What makes the food great is clean, simple but properly complemented dishes. Being on Lobster Cove adds to the experience as well. Too many places over prepare a dish, too many others don't understand how to complement the star of the plate with clean and interesting flavors. What takes this from a 4 to a 5 rating is the staff.
