“Absolutely delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

Delicious! Four of us ate there recently and we all loved our meals, and each of us had a different entree. The food is exquisite. Three of us enjoyed the half portions thus allowing us to have wonderful desserts. You do have to reserve ahead. The staff is welcoming. Its on the same street as the theater and this makesa great evening out.

“Fine restaurant...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

My husband and I had booked a table at Duckworth's Bistrot for the second day of our mini vacation. We opted for 4 small servings to share, instead of two full meals and this was a good choice. Lovely fresh rolls and butter were included. We started with the soup of the day (and I'm sorry but I can't remember what it was other than to say I believe I enjoyed it - just not memorable) We also ordered the Heirloom tomato salad and this was lovely, tasty and fresh. Then we had the Lobster Risotto and with this the Seared Sea Scallops. We found the Risotto a bit "gummy" not to our liking; however, the Sea Scallops were perfection, nicely crusted on the outside and not overdone on the inside...very very tasty...the best part of the meal. We were fortunate to have a table for only two against a wall; however, there were many table for two in which you would be sitting elbow to elbow with another table for two (in other words, you might as well share dinner with them)....I would not have been happy in that setup. The service was OK, we had to catch the waitresses attention in order to get a second glass of wine (we had the feeling that we were invisible). Our bill for the evening was $86. before tip. Would I go back to Duckworth's when in Gloucester again?? Probably not as there are so many other great choices. I do not see what this restaurant rates higher than Azorean??

“Well worth a visit”

The half portions are very generous and a nice menu option. Overall, excellent food and service. A real treat when visiting Cape Ann.

“WOW!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

We love Duckworth's Bistrot and go there as much as we can for special meals. Simply put, the food is exceptional (and consistent), the atmosphere is welcoming, the service is genuine, and the overall experience is perhaps the best "neighborhood" restaurant we've ever encountered. The only downside is that due to the size you'll need a reservation well in advance!

“Duckworth's Bistrot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

It's a quaint restaurant in an older home. Very small and you need reservations I think. It was filled and we just happened to get in, because of a cancellation. The Fish Stew was devine. I never knew it could be so good. It's pricey, but worth it.
