Everything was awful except the food. We asked a really friendly guy on the street where to eat and he told us Carlo's. A 90 minute wait was filled in at the bar with a quite rude bartender and no specialty drink menu. Finally after seeing at least five large tables open with no customers we begged to be seated and saw that on the sign-in sheet about 20 people after us were seated before us. Our waiter didn't bring us waters but did bring us the wrong beers. We ordered around 830 expecting to eat and finish before the band started. They told us 9pm. The band didn't start until 9:30 and was terrible. Sounded horribly muffled. AND WE STILL DIDN'T HAVE OUR FOOD!!! We complained to our waiter, his supervisor, then the manager. We got several excuses; one being a chef's father died two weeks before and they were still reeling. When we got our food we were no longer hungry. We figured the sight of food would help us only we couldn't see if our food was appetizing because there were no lights anywhere. I easily missed the shrimp tail shells and my wife had to bring her plate into the light to see if hers was done the way she ordered. It wasn't. Despite my wife sending back her food, the food we did eat was great. Baked stuffed lobster - huge, succulent, fresh, buttery.
Captain's seafood casserole - sweet, buttery, filling was outrageous, i actually licked my fingers. Even though we weren't hungry and were literally seconds from walking away, food was great. But was it worth the suffering? We won't know because we won't ever be back.
