Went here for dinner with my wife. The deck was very pleasant and we had a table by the window with a great view of the harbor and a light sea breeze. First we received our appetizers - littleneck clams and mussels. The mussels were good, but under-spiced. The littlenecks were inedible, just like rubber. The waitress took them back graciously, and subsequently told us that they took littlenecks off the menu for the evening, which seemed like a very good response. She brought us cups of chowder instead (gratis, which we appreciated!), and while the clams and potatoes were fresh, overall it was quite bland and a bit too thick. My wife had a crab cake which was very good, but the dipping sauce (which was interesting, made with nutmeg I think) was served under a bed of arugula rather than on the side, which made the arugula very soggy. I had the fish tacos, which were made with good fried haddock and had some nice pickled jalapeno peppers. Again, they could have used something extra to brighten them up a bit more. So apart from the problem with the littlenecks, I'd say mostly the cooks work with good ingredients and have some good ideas, but need to be more aggressive (or rather, less passive) with the spices - the food is bland. In comparison with the other restaurants in the area (The Rudder is two doors down the street), this was a disappointing meal at a fairly high price. I'm giving a 'good' rather than 'poor' because it seems they are trying, and there were some good points to the meal.
