Beautiful view and location in Gloucester. Recommend packing a picnic lunch while sitting there along the shore.

A tribute to a town's lost fishermen. The view is beautiful, the statue is lovely and the names of all who have died is just so sad.

You've seen the fisherman's picture many times but the memorial adjacent to the statue is truly moving with the names of every fisherman last to the sea for over the past centuries of Gloucester history

You have to see the statue if you are in Gloucester anyway. Lots of good places to eat nearby and a sense of history. No admission...it's just there by the sea for all to enjoy and get your picture taken.

We just had to visit the Fishermen's Memorial monument when we visited Gloucester. While on the cruise ship we came across alot of lobster traps way out in sea and also fishing boats. All I can remember was what I saw when watching the "Perfect Storm" movie. I just thought about how hard they work and how dangerous their jobs are. Many families have been doing this for generations. All so they can make an living and we can eat our lobster, crab, and fish. It was a solemn experience to visit the site and see all the names of the fishermen lost at sea. Still brings tears to my eyes just writing this review. So glad we got to do that. A must if in Gloucester.
