I had a lot of time to kill with a small child and this was a life saver. We went two days and both days were perfect. The park is huge! Lots of room to run around. The playground is fantastic too! The daughter loved it. Parking is $10 but street parking on the Boulevard is free and you can walk a little and get to the park that way. Just a lot of fun!

The walk was easy and very nice, you can see the sea most of the time and breath the light breeze. very recommended.

We happened upon this park after eating some great seafood at Causeway restaurant, and the walk on the small, rocky beach was the perfect ending to a late Spring day in Gloucester. My son climbed a huge rock and spent some time communing with nature! There were fabulous views everywhere we turned, and some inviting picnic grounds that we'll make use of in the future. Nice public restrooms with changing areas. There was a small restaurant selling typical "beachy" food, but we were too full from Causeway to try it. We took some great pictures and spent an hour--we would have stayed longer if we could have.

Stage Fort Park in Gloucester MA is a great place for an invigorating walk up & down hills (and over coastal granite boulders, if so inclined), with gorgeous harbor views at every turn. Nicely cooled by fresh ocean breezes, it has 2 beaches (Half Moon- small but sandy- & Cressy's- wide but rocky), a playground, ball fields, picnic tables and BBQ grill pits, an ice cream snack bar (The Cupboard), a visitors' center (in center stone building) with basement restrooms (damp but adequate- when open!), a convenient hilltop parking lot (free for residents with beach sticker, paid for non residents, except free for all during the Thurs. 3-6:30pm Farmers Market, 6/20-10/10/13*). Try to find free street parking down below, along Western Ave., AKA "The Boulevard," first, unless you need the convenient access of the parking lot. *Don't forget- you can buy fresh, local produce while you're there at the Cape Ann Farmers Summer Market (CAFM) on Thursdays, June 20 - Oct. 10, 3:00 - 6:30pm.

This was a nice place to walk to from downtown Gloucester. The playground was nautical-themed, and we enjoyed the views.
