Visited Cape ann and stayed at the Atlantis on Gloucester's scenic shore drive. Wow what a spectacular view of the coast line and famous Twin Lights! A 10 minute walk to Good Harbor Beach, one of the best beaches anywhere, and a 10 minute drive to the waterfront, downtown or to the charming village of Rockport and funky and fun Rocky Neck. In my opinion this is the best hotel on Cape Ann! Private patios, beautifully decorated and spotless rooms, which appeared to be newly updated. Flat screen TVs, Wi-fi, lots of bright white towels, and a nice size refrigerator. Breakfast in the dining room was excellent, and the sparkling oceanfront pool all made for a perfect stay. I will be back.

Got to Gloucester late evening. Found this place with a vacancy. Not over priced and right across the street from the water. The view was wonderful, the staff was nice and breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel was very good. The room was clean and adequate.

We recently stayed at the Atlantis for the first time. The room was one of the cleanest I've ever seen. The view was amazing and the option to have our door open and let the ocean air come through was a treat! Breakfast in the cafe was served quickly and was delicious. We even swam in the outdoor pool on a lovely October night! We can't wait to go back in the spring!

We stayed at the Atlantis this September for our son's wedding. I am very picky about accomodations and will only stay at THE cleanest places. This lovely place lives up to all its glowing reviews: the rooms are spotless, the views are terrific, the restaurant is charming and you really can eat off the parking lot if you were so inclined (lol). The staff is superb- professional and friendly. This is a great spot for anyone to get away from it all. A final perk- Good Harbor Beach is within walking distance. Stay here, you won't regret it!!

Our room was clean but dated. We were disappointed that there was no microwave in the room. We thought the "Breakfast Cafe" was a bit over priced.

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean. Higher floors have better view. Lots of road noise.

This is the 2nd time we have been to Gloucester on Cape Ann in MA.
It is a beautiful area! Once again we stayed at the Atlantis, very nice, across the street from the ocean, very quiet. There is a restaurant there that is open to the public for breakfast only. I don't eat a big breakfast so we didn't try it. But, I have heard good things about it!
Room is very clean, 2 comfortable beds, has a small refrigerator, coffee maker, they provide mugs, coffee, etc. Also a small table w/2 chairs if you want to eat in one night.
I always take a room on the lower level (the cheapest), little patio outside your door with chairs & little table. Perfect for wine & cheese at nite & watch the sunset! Walk up 2 steps to the perfectly manicured lawn! There is a/c, flat screen TV, phone in room, alarm clock, hair dryer. In gound pool, plenty of free parking, cookies in the office in the afternoon!
The owners are very nice & helpful.
Recommended The Topside Grill for dinner! Fabulous! We went 2 nights in a row! Tom was an excellent waiter & we had Jim the next nite who was equally attentive!
Try The Lobster Pool for very casual dining, inside or outside at a picnic table on the grass by the water! Some people sit on the rocks & eat. Put your order in, pay, they give you a number, they will call out your number when food is ready, you go pick it. BYOB! Get the lobster roll!! Not sure how long the Lobster Pool is open AFTER Labor Day?? Best to check 1st, But the view is gorgeous. Incredible sunsets, take your camera! There are guitars for anyone who would like to play. It can get buggy outside, so have your bugspray on!
Also a firepit for cooler nites, we saw kids roasting marshmallows one nite. They usually close @ 8 - 8:30 pm?
My favorite thing up in that area is WHALE WATCHING!! I would go all the time! Check times, call for reservations especially on weekends! During the week is less crowded. There are several companies that go on whale watches, all are good! Sometimes give a AAA Discount, just ask them! It can get cool out on the water, take a sweater. Wear sunscreen!
You will see whales, guaranteed! They go out thru late October. Cape Ann Whale Watch, Capt. Bill., Seven Seas to name a few!
Drive over to Rockport also! Bear Skin Neck has adorable shops, beautiful views.
I want to go back again before whale watching ends in October!!

Make sure that you drive all over Cape Ann, the entire area is beautiful.

Room Tip: I wanted to stay an extra nite & waited till the last minute to check to see if anything was ava...

I brought my mom here for a few days to enjoy the view and fresh air. She has several disabilities and uses a walker and oxygen. I did call ahead with her issues and was given an appropriate room on the main level. The good...the room was spotless, comfortable and had an awesome view of the ocean. The beds were comfortable, with nice fresh linens. The pool area was wonderful...immaculate....but....completely bordered with a variety of flowers that were LOADED with bees. Not a great combo for bare feet and bee allergies! There was no way to bring mom easily to the pool, had to hold on tight and guide her down the stairs. The ramp at the rear corridor is too steep and created a 'runaway mom and walker' scenario! We ate twice at the restaurant and were surprised that it also was not ADA compliant. There was a small ramp in the lobby that led you to a short set of stairs. Very intimidating to the physically challenged. I witnessed several people attempting to navigate, both with walkers and canes. This restaurant is open to the public and should be fully accessible. I will definitely return, but mom will have to stay behind next time. :(

Room Tip: Main level or second floor for the best views!
