We recently visited the Hammond castle after just driving by it. I would highly recommend if you go to listen to the tour provided. I learned so many interesting facts and information about the castle and the owner and liked how the tutorial was personalized with stories versus just facts and dates. I don't think I would have enjoyed as much if I was just touring on my own.

Our family loved this spot so beautiful. There were 2 options that you would be able to do. One would be go with a tour guide around the castle or watch a video that explained about the castle.
The cost was not bad and we went with option 2 and walked around the castle at our own pase and were able to see all the details of the castle.
Wonderful spot to go and visit.

This is a very free wheeling place to visit. Mr Hammond vision of a European castle was very well conceived. The staff were very helpful and informative. However, the visit could be improved by either audio guides or a tour guide. There is just so much unique objects, furniture and complete parts of old French and Italian houses designed into the fabric of the castle. The main hall is huge and perhaps could be enhanced with more explanation as to what these unique features are. The pre tour video was very helpful, but they could provide more seating- only three chairs were available. Then there are the amazing Hammond invention exhibits and the list of his patents is truly impressive. There is something for everyone here. Highly recommend.

The "castle" is a bit shabby due to age and lack of funds for upkeep. Tour guides add interesting antidotal info. The guide we had was not the best - she took up too much time with personal stories that made some guests uncomfortable and took up time. It's is incredible the art and architecture taking from previous centuries in Europe and brought here. Take time to stop and read for fascinating details about the artifacts. Beautiful grounds on the ocean. I'd use caution if planning a wedding. The wedding display case featured items that would not be up to my personal standards, but everyone has their own taste. I would recommend going over details carefully.

It is a nice little self paced tour of the castle. You pay for your entrance and take your time exploring all of the castle. There are many passages and the spiral staircases are quite narrow. It is definitely not handicap accessible so don't try to visit if you have mobility issues. The exhibits are well documented and the grounds are beautiful. I recommend visiting.
