“Interesting, unique”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We found it on a rainy morning and it was well worth the time and admission fee. Take your time and don't rush and try to see as many of the small details as possible. Your patience will be rewarded.Watch the introductory film and hopefully you will get a guided tour.

“Great way to spend an afternoon”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

So many interesting things at the castle. Had an 8 year old and 10 year old and they loved it. The only bad thing I can say is it is not handicapped accessible, lots of stairs. The staff was extremely pleasant and took the time to answer all our quesions.

“Unique place to visit”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

This was an unusual home built for Mr. Hammond's wife as well for the renowned state of the art Hammond Organ. He was a peculiar but gifted man. His inventions are interesting to see, yet the lighting wasn't generally very good to be able to read and see things well. Overall, it was a worthwhile visit, so much better than our visit to Salem and the Crane Estate.

“Excellent Halloween attraction!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

We went to the Hammond Castle for their Halloween haunted house. It is truly the ideal location for a haunted house. There was a line (but it was worth the wait) and you could see the ocean over the cliff while waiting. The inside of the castle is beautiful (would love to visit again during the day) but also very creepy when the lighting is low and there are things going bump in the night. The attraction itself was scary and there were "monsters" outside to keep people entertained while they waited in line. Also a place to get something to eat before or after. Well worth it!!

“Castle by candle light”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

My wife and 10 year old granddaughter visited the Castle, home of American Inventor, John Hayes Hammond Jr. last night for the candle light tour. It is the best visit we have made in eastern Massachusetts in a long time. The Castle is open on Thursdays until 8 PM and we were there to closing. Do not miss the castle tour. See Hammondcastle.org for details.
