Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Picture yourself relaxing on the deck of this beautiful 65- foot schooner as she sails out of Gloucester harbor on a light southwesterly breeze. Join us for a two-hour sail and get a taste for what it was like to sail on a fishing schooner a hundred years ago. Help the crew raise the sails, or just sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Gloucester's coastline. Some of our weekend public sails feature music. We offer group rates. And we specialize in private charters for weddings, corporate entertainment, teambuilding, birthdays and more. The Lannon is a great place for a party!

The personal was very nice and the boat was confortable for a 2 hours cruise and very clean.Unfortunately we remained in the small bay near the port so after 30 minutes it became a bit boring. The cost was 80$ for two which is too much to remain near the port. I would have appreciate something more challenging! During the cruise I would have appreciate to have the owner Mr Tom or the captain to tell us about schooners, how he built his ship and etc. If I was promess to go at sea I would be happy to go again with the same team. By the way the lady selling the tickets was very kind and made us fell confortable about the cruise.

Went with my husband and two friends for sailing that we purchased with a Groupon. The ship was beautiful, the people were very friendly and accomodating and we had a great day. Go! It's great for families with young children and teens, friends and couples.

We had a smooth sail in the harbor with cocktails served. Everything about this schooner and the owners who ran it was tops. It promoted tranquility and peace. What a wonderful time everyone had.

The sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon is a unique experience to go back in time and see what the Gloucester coastline was like in the days of sailing. The Captain asks for volunteers to help set the sails and then you sail out of the port to the outer harbor. There are views of the Fisherman's monument, the Hammond Castle, home of inventor John Hayes Hammond, the breakwater and lighthouse and the summer homes of the O'Connell's and Clarence Birdseye, the head of the Birdseye fortune. It is a leisurely 1 and a half hour sail ending with a view of Rocky Neck and the State Fish Pier.
You pick up the cruise near the Gloucester House Restaurant. There is a senior rate. We paid $30 on the off season in Sept. It is usually $40 in the high season with a discount of $5 for seniors and more for children under 16.
You won't be disappointed in this wonderful time on the ocean.

The schooner ride is a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The crew is charming and fun and will answer your questions about the schooner, harbor and life! They will give you the opportunity to hoist the sails. They offer different types of cruises such as lunch or sunset. I went on the morning cruise and found it very enjoyable. I would recommend the sunset cruise as well since the sunsets over Gloucester Harbor are beautiful.
