Owner description: Cape Ann Whale Watch in Gloucester, Massachusetts provides guaranteed whale sightings for every whale watching tour out to Stellwagen Bank, a national marine preserve about 12 miles off the coast of Gloucester deemed one of the "Top 5 Whale Watching Destinations in the World" by the World Wildlife Fund due to the wide variety of whale species whom migrate to the coast of Gloucester, Massachusetts every year to feed on the abundant natural resources. We provide the best whale watching in New England as it's an awe-inspiring experience which every human being should have the opportunity to appreciate. We make it a very special event. For over 35 years, Cape Ann Whale Watch has been dazzling whale watching enthusiasts with sightseeing tours aboard the largest, fastest and most elegant whale watching vessel in Massachusetts, north of Boston, Massachusetts aptly named "The Hurricane II" due to its immense size and speed as it descends upon its destination. Cape Ann Whale Watch's patrons have the opportunity to spend a lot more time with the whales than with other whale watching companies in Gloucester MA since "The Hurricane II" gets to the whales' feeding grounds with much more expediency as well as traveling home faster, therefore more time is actually spent observing whales including but not limited to Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Northern Right Whales, Pilot Whales, Northern Right Whales, Sperm Whales, Sei Whales, Blue Whales (The Largest Whales in the Seven Seas yet seldom seen around Gloucester MA), Fin Whales, Atlantic White Sided Dolphins, Harbor Porpoises and whole host of other fascinating marine creatures as we deliver the best whale watching excursion in Massachusetts. "The Hurricane II" boasts 115 ft length with over 400 ft of whale watching room from the railings of the upper and lower observation decks for optimum whale watching conditions. There is a heated, furnished indoor cabin with a full service galley serving hot meals, snacks and cold beverages as well as a fully stocked bar with local brews, popular beer, wine and mixed drinks. Cape Ann Whale Watch is truly the finest whale watching tour in the Boston MA area offering the highest level of quality, comfort and service at the cheapest, most affordable price suitable for any family entertainment budget whether on vacation or a day trip. We offer AAA discounts on the adult tickets. We also offer reduced rates for seniors, children and military families. We go where the whales go. Our vessels communicate with each other as to the location of whales so we will go anywhere to see them on the North Shore or South Shore of Massachusetts including off the coast of Boston, Massachusetts: Salem MA, Newburyport, Cape Cod, Hampton NH, Rowley, Rockport MA, Danvers, Peabody, Swampscott, Revere, Winthrop or wherever else the whales may roam.

A thoroughly professional organisation, well rehearsed, well planned and well executed. Ample parking available on site adjacent to ticket office with <100 yards to boat. Book tickets via groupon if you can as you get a great saving of $20/head.
The boat was very clean and big enough to take well over 100 passengers without feeling crowded. The boat motors out to the watching area for about an hour and then it is a case of watching the whales as they appear. We did not have the luck of the 3 days previous trip where there were they said over 200 sightings but we saw whales - not immediately close by but close enough for some good photos.
We spent 2 hours watching the whales and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend anyone to use this service.
The staff on board came round and explained a lot about the animals seen and their lives. Highly educational and entertaining, the children on board were well looked after and will have learnt a lot from the trip
The food on board was a surprise in being of good value for money and not at rip off pricing - well done to them for adopting a sensible approach.
Regrets - yes - we have been visiting my sister in NH for 30 years and regret it has taken 30 years to do this trip which we shall certainly repeat with this tour operator next time!

First time whale watching, we could not have been more pleased! The crew was extremely knowledgable and answered all questions with a great deal of compassion. The Captain was determined to get the vessel right up and close to the animals without placing them in danger, however we had a birds eye view of many different whales, and even a seal on the way out to Jeffrey's Ledge. A MUST see tour, don't miss this one!

Cape Anne Whale Watch is the best. They have it all: great vessel, knowledgable educators, friendly crew, excellent value and free parking. When we come back to Gloucester for more vacation getaways we will use these folks. Whale watching from Cape Anne is certainly the way to go. The connection to the working port and fisherman history is a plus. The locals are very supportive and you never feel like you are in a glossy touristy spot.
The level of knowledge about the whales among the crew is very high. Even at capacity the Hurricane II is very spacious and accommodating. The hot and cold food on board was very affordable.
This was an anniversary for my wife and me (30th) but the boat was populated with families of all ages and there was something for everyone.
We saw many, many humpback and minke whales right up close. I recommend going in June, the weather was calm and the crowds seemed smaller.

A nice fast ride out to the Banke . . . . Tons of sightings with an aggressive captain .. . . Very knowledgeable staff who came around the boat . . and got everyone in the spirit. We were lucky enough to have a humpback surface appx 3 feet from the boat . . . they are amazing animals and it is great that the staff and crew really expressed the importance of conserving the habitat. The only negatives can be the passengers . . . . sometimes not willing to make space so some of the younger ones can see the whales . . . that and the smoking . . . Time to make this trip non smoking . . .If you have kids, or are a non smoker, stay away from the back of the boat!!!
