The beach is wide and shallow, perfect for swimming and water fun. There is also a creek/lagoon where small children can play. Public beach has parking, rest rooms, snack bar. Very clean and very scenic!

Although quite busy so you need to get there earlier, especially if you require parking, this beach has wonderfully warmer waters with light waves or water pockets left by tides you& the kids can play in. Please enjoy!

I suggest going during the week or after 3 pm on weekends in summer as it gets very crowded. Wide beach but not very long. Warm, clean water. Very gradual drop off; can walk out quite a ways at low tide. Great for young children.

good beach! crowded in the summer but nice wide beach (not too long). The parking at $25 is a little out of our range, not to mention the lot was full, so we packed light, parked downtown Gloucester on a Sunday, and biked to the beach. It was a really hot day but the ride was quick and easy. We are going to bike to beaches from now on!

I love this beach! I grew up in CA and ME and have been all up and down the MA coast and this is one of the nicest beaches I've been to. It is long and sandy with a large tidal change and a tidal river along one side that you can ride like a lazy river at certain times. There are bathrooms and food service. The waves are medium to small and the tidal river provides a safe place for little kids.
