Motel 6 Boston West - Framingham
Ranked #5 of 7 Hotels in Framingham
Reviewed April 11, 2008

Stayed here at the Motel 6 in Framingham, MA in early April 2008 for 3 nights....I enjoyed the stay. This motel is very basic, but price was right for my travel purposes...cost per night was approx. $49.99. Would recommend this motel for the budget minded traveler.

Pros:
Good location, right on Route 9 westbound side, near Mass Pike on ramp ( and off ramp ) in Framingham, MA.
Dunkin Doughnuts right next to motel.
Gas and Restaurants very close.
Price is fairly low.
Everything seemed to work..ie. ice machines, coke machine, elevator and a/c-heater all worked..
24 hour front counter person on duty and helpful.
Clean, but small rooms..Comfortable bed.

Cons:
Small rooms with only the very basics ( only had soap and towells )....No shampoo, no hair dryer and no iron... However, all available upon request...
Noisey, as Route 9 is directly in front of motel....Request back of motel rooms, if that is an issue.
No "free" internet access...they have wireless access for $2.99/day. I did not use it, so I can't tell how the speed was.

Overall, a pleasant stay. Would recommend for budget minded travelers...

its got all your essentials and it was comfortable.
the only complaints i have are that the non-smoking rooms had a lingering smell of smoke and one of my daughters complained that the sheets smelled funky.

If your looking for a cheap but clean motel in the Boston area, this is the place to go. The room was very basic, but clean. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. There is a Dunkin Doughnuts next door, so how can you beat that for breakfest. If I need a cheap room in the Boston area again, I will stay here.

Some might want to argue vehemently against a five-star rating for any Motel 6. Martha Stewart didn't do the decor. Some of the usual amenities, like a coffee maker, are missing. But this after all is the chain that carries a one-star rating in all the guides.

Still this compares more than favorably with the Radisson in Chelmsford we last stayed at. Their room was so small you needed to leave the room to smile. The bed was so hard my wife's old whiplash injury was giving her pain for days afterward.

The motel itself is rather large. So are the rooms The mattress was quite adequate.

A caution: the bathtub had no anti-slip strips. Taking a shower may be best recommended to daredevils. A glaring oversight I think.

The no-exit road out front is a pain. Not easy to turn around. Still one might want to try the Brazilian buffet, La Casa do Brasil (the name has changed from Bananas Grill), down the road a short distance. If you don't like any of the offerings, you just don't like food.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as it was really cheap compared to the other hotels in boston area (we payed 50 dollars night).
The staff at the front desk was okay and the rooms were alright for this price. I would rather pay more next time as the beds were uncomfortable, there is no hair dryer, no coffee maker and the bathroom is not as clean as it should be.
I think the hotel is renovated but you can still see that it is an old building.

Considering the price of the room (about $57US) we were very pleased with the quality and the value we recieved for our buck, especially when compared to pricing of other chains in the same area.

The room itself was very clean. No frills, to be sure, but more than adequate. The location right by the interstate was very convenient as well.

There were some cons that need to be addressed...since it's right outside RT 9 it can get noisy, and the channel selection on the televisions in each room was lousy (11 channels, none that were local affiliates, but at least there was CNN and HBO.)

However if you're looking for a no-frills, budget hotel I highly recommend this one.
