“Mixed bag”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

If you are looking for a great water park for your kids with a good attentive staff, GWL is the place. However it is extremely expensive, our room for five with AAA rates is $532 and add to that taxes and resort fees. They took an Old Holiday Inn and recreated it. However nothing went into the rooms. The bathroom is teensy, no bars to help you in and out the shower tub, no hooks in the room for wet bathing suits, nothing!
The worst part is the sparse food options. There is a DD that in the am has a horrific line and a breakfast $14.00 buffet that is akn to free buffets in a Courtyard Marriott.
Check in took 45 minutes as our very young hostess had no idea what she was doing. I had reserved rooms across from each other and they were in separate parts of the building. The manager stepped in and she was terrific but there was just so much she could do. No fresh fruit for the kids but every kind of junk food . Oh t the drive directions on the website are a mess. No address and it took three calls to get an address for the gps. Elevator lines are terrible!
Only one vending machine on five floors worked. We reported it but nothing was done.
Our 4 grandchildren had fun. We spent over $2500 for two nights and had constant aggravation with the food and the elevators. This is Nothing like GWL in Williamsburg, so buyer beware.

“Watch out for all the extras”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

Hotel was clean room was also clean . Food was ok nothing great. Bought the magma quest wands for 3 kids $135 total. Two ended up not wanting to do it because it was very confusing no refund allowed. Charges for theatre$7. Mini golf $6. And the charges go on. Be sure to bring ur wallet. Major bummer no outside pool which would have been a nice break from the loud water park.

“Working out the kinks”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

I have read other reviews of other Great Wolf Lodges around the country and I would say without question, the other locations probably crush this location in terms of layout, size, offerings, etc. This lcoation is a buildout of a closed down older water park. Having said that, I have to say, this place is really pretty cool overall. Like any new location of any business,, they are working out issues that are not worthy to jump on them for a negative review. Pretty much any water slide entrance, when walking up the stairs, you have no idea what line you are a part of ...ie, when you get to the top ( after standing in a line ), that is when you have to figure out who is going where for the ride entrance. I stood in line for 10 min with a ton of people all while when I finally got to the top..I realized no one was waiting for the ride I wanted to go on...they were all waiting for the ride that takes four people at once on a tube... the lines in the stairs need some kind of separation so people have an idea of where to go
The staff are generally very nice...yet are all very young and generally clueless. Clearly their training with how to deal with people is very limited and the Company does not hold them to specific standards. ie.....when walking down a hallway, ,approaching a door or even an elevator...they do not acknowledge you should as a guest be first....greet you...etc. I used the bathroom located inside on the water park side that has a bathroom inside it, and next to the snackbar.... the bathroom really needed to be attended....paper towels over flowing on the floor due to full waste baskets...urine on the floor near the urinals.....etc...very unattended....I mentioned the mess to the staff at the snackbar....the young lady said...ohhhh.....um....I will mention something to a life guard ....I was like what ? a lifeguard...she said yes...then they will find someone.... that makes no sense...pick up the phone and call the front office staff and get maintenance in there...., by the way...she never said a word and an hour later it was completely filthy....
Eating establishments located throughout are generally decent and from what i find....very reasonable in comparison to a typical entertainment venue...probably half the cost of a six flags...disney, etc. and the quality decent...ie, $8. for a kids and $16 for an adult dinner buffet with solid quality food. $2. for an Edy's brand ice cream cone for kids....and pretty good sized cone. Plenty of adult beverages offered throughout the parks and also very reasonable...I think $5. for a specialty draft.

I would write more...but like I said....they have things to figure out....people need to be trained...policies like cleaning and guest interaction implemented...etc. The park IS a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a great time.

Go for it.

A waterpark and lodge new to New England. Lots of fun water rides for all ages.
other fun things to do for kids. A bit expensive. Restaurant has a good menu but service could be improved. Rooms are clean. In general a fun stay.
