“Best hotel on Cape Cod!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

Great visit! From the time we arrived to the time we left amazing service. Breakfast buffet great. Rooms nice nothing elaborate but clean and comfortable. The staff is what made this hotel. They were always there to make your stay better. Boogie boards and sand toys at the beach really hit a sweet spot especially when you have little kids and forgot to pack them. No extra charge! Towels hot and fluffy not typical gross pool towels.

Took the family here in early June 2013. We were lucky enough to hit an early heat wave just before the busy season. We were delighted to be provided with wristbands so that we could use the beach and facilities all day while waiting for our room to be ready, which we did.

The beach, complete with chairs and umbrellas, was outstanding with rentable watercraft steps away. The two heated saline pools (Indoor/outdoor and MUCH nicer than chlorine) were fantastic.. on the first day the outside pool was almost TOO warm but still enjoyable. We were a little disappointed with both jacuzzi tubs as they were much too small for a resort of this size. Also, the outdoor tub was not even working at the time we visited, and children are not allowed in them at all (even with a parent) and they enforce this. While wait staff service was limited, the food and drink at the outdoor bar was also a welcome (but pricey) treat, as was the live Reggae band.

The restaurants while typically pricey were not unreasonably so (especially considering the convenience) but the food quality and service was exceptional. The breakfast buffet with the view of the beach were also outstanding - highly recommend treating yourself to this during your stay.

The room itself was nothing special... but also not disappointing either. Accommodations were typical, and while we didn't have a beach facing room, our view from the side balcony was more than sufficient, though we'd have prefered more privacy on the balconies as there are no walls between you and your neighbors. A local vending machine would also have been handy... had to walk to the lobby for drinks/snacks.

While there, my family also decided to rent bikes so that we could explore the nearby "Shining Sea Bike and Walking Path". The bike rentals were less than adequate and more of an afterthought. The hotel should spend a few bucks on some decent "comfort" bikes and a handful of decent kid bikes would have been nice too. Additionally, some clear directions or signage to the path would have also been very helpful considering it is one of the big attractions to the area. After finally finding it, the bike path was well worth our time and we enjoyed the ride immensely, though next time we'll be sure to bring our own bikes.

Overall, our stay was exceptional, as was the service, the food, and the resort overall. It felt like a trip to Jamaica rather than a long weekend on the Cape. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Not sure I'd want a room by the pool, kinda loud. You don't need a beach facing room to get...

My husband and I stayed at The Sea Crest from July 27-29 2013. The best part of the Sea Crest Beach Hotel is the beach. The location is excellent, it's just unfortunate that the housekeeping and beach service are not. The room was a nice size. Our room was supposedly cleaned on our second day, but for some reason housekeeping did not leave us with towels. We were getting ready to shower when we realized there were no towels, so we called housekeeping and our towels showed up an hour later, just as we were leaving to attend a wedding. It was not easy drying off with no towels. We also spent the day on the beach and ordered some drinks, but after 45 minutes when they didn't show up we gave up. I also noticed that the halls smelled musty. Not sure if that's because the hotel is on the water. The manager was apologetic for the lapses in service, but I would not stay at this hotel again, even with the convenience of the beach. This hotel is definitely not worth the $299 plus tax I paid per night.

Thank you for sharing your comments regarding your recent experience. Your comments go a long way in helping us determine areas where improvements are necessary.

In our guest rooms, we have placed cards informing our guests about our “Green Program”. We ask that you leave your towels on the floor if you wish for towels to be replaced with fresh ones, otherwise, we assume that you do not require new towels that you are satisfied with reusing your towels. However, I do apologize for your towels not being delivered to you in a timely manner after you had requested them.

I was disappointed to learn that about the delay with your drinks, although our beach on a sunny weekends are full, there is no excuse for you to have to wait 45 minutes.

And yes, when you are on the ocean and the humidity levels are high, unfortunately, despite our efforts, occassionally contend with the musty smells in our hallways.

We are sorry that you will not be staying with us in the future.

I recently stayed at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel since a friend's daughter was getting married nearby. In the summer, you have to stay for a two night minimum so I thought it would make a nice weekend away. At $299 a night, not including tax, I was disappointed at the quality of the rooms, the service and amenities within the room.
I was told the hotel was renovated a few years ago, but the rooms did not have a fresh, updated feel. The size of our room was nice, but that and the flat screen tv were about the highlights.
The bathroom is small and the amenities are sparce...you'll need to bring your own magnifying mirror, your own cotton balls or q-tips and the size of the shampoo and conditioner bottles are tiny. There is an adequate hair dryer and an iron, but I never did find the ironing board. There is no safe in the room, either.
Also, after the room was cleaned, no fresh towels were brought to the room. I tried calling housekeeping, but the phone kept directing me to the main number where no one answered. After I went to the front desk, they said they were fixing the phones and had towels sent up right away. Our traveling companions were not as lucky, and never got towels before getting ready for the wedding we attended. They had to dry themselves using washcloths!
I did not have time to get to the beach, but heard it was nice, yet very crowded as would be expected.
Our bed springs creaked every time we moved and we had 3 standard pillows for a king sized bed. There's no doubt there is room for improvement, especially at those prices.
I would not stay here again, but those with families will enjoy the indoor pool, private beach area and water activities. Just know you will be paying top dollar for just average service.

Room Tip: I stayed in an inside room on the 2nd floor which overlooked the service area with a slight view of...

Thank you for sharing your comments regarding your recent experience. Your comments go a long way in helping us determine areas where improvements are necessary.
The amenities in our guest rooms are the standard size, in line with other hotels. Typically, what is provided in our guest rooms are a trial size shampoo and conditioner, lotion, as well as small and medium size bars of soap. In addition, for the asking, we have a toothbrush, trial size toothpaste, deodorant, and shaving cream as well as a razor. Safes are not offered in the guest rooms; however, we do have safe deposit boxes at the front desk for our guests. Typically the guest room is equipped with an ironing board too. I wish you had informed us that your room was missing the ironing board; we would have delivered one along with the towels.
Our Green Program, detailed on cards located in our guest rooms asks that you put your used towels on the floor if you wish to have them exchanged for fresh towels, otherwise, we assume you are satisfied in reusing the existing linens; this is also standard today in most hotels. I was happy to hear that upon your request, you were given towels right away.

We are sorry that you will not be returning for a future stay.

There have been significant upgrades to the property. There is new paint and restaurants as well as new furnishings. The hotel itself is still just ok. The housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. I left a paper plate and a cup on a table and returned after housekeeping had been there to find them behind the chair on the floor. I have been here numerous times for conferences and have never been impressed with much of anything besides the beach. The bed is very soft and the bathroom is poorly lit.

I was disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction with your stays at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. Please know that I have shared your opinion regarding your experiences with my Housekeeping Manager and he assured me that he will reiterate to his team the importance of following through with every step in every guest room. Providing great service is what we aspire towards and I sincerely apologize that we you feel that is not what you received during your stays.

Back again for another summer of fun. Have stayed a few times and really a resort hotel. Live music by the pool and bar and great restaurants overlooking the ocean. Sunsets are amazing!

The staff is always willing to help [Amanda at the front desk was awesome] with whatever you need. Rooms are all top notch and clean.

This hotel just keeps getting better and better every year.

This hotel came recommended by friends who grew up in the area. The location is perfect--right on the beach. We had an ocean view room. I stayed on the beach the whole time :-) and there were pools, food, basketball, games, etc for others in the family. The beach strip is short--I love to wake a dawn and walk a long way which could not be done here. But I walked the full length a couple of times and that worked. I enjoyed watching the water sports. The beaches were very crowded--that can't be helped but not ideal for wanting to get away from it all. The food was surprisingly good--our server the first night at Red's was Sierra and she was great. The staff is mostly young (that's great) but very uneven service--many could use some customer service training.

Room Tip: Ocean view!
