Sea Crest Beach Hotel

My family and I just recently stayed at Chatham Bars Inn and we just stayed at Seacrest this past weekend. It was unanimous that we all preferred the Seacrest over CBI. We had a fireplace room which was very spacious and comfortable for 4. The beach is beautiful with beach attendants to set up your chairs and umbrella. We loved the convenience of everything within a short walk. You can easily go back and forth from beach to pool and bar and bathrooms. The food was excellent...especially the breakfast buffet...one of the best we have ever had. I will go back again and again!!

Room Tip: We had rm 810 (fireplace room). I have stayed before and had an ocean view. I didn't book in t...

We sadly were only able to stay here one night - such a shame as it was lovely! The room we had looked newly refurbished and was huge with fabulous big windows looking out onto the beach and sea. Unfortunately the weather was awful when we were there but it was still stunning and would be even more so when the sun shone!

The indoor pool and jacuzzi was nice, particularly as the weather was not up to braving the outdoor pool!

We stayed here for two nights from a deal we purchased on snique away, a travel discount website. We were not disappointed in the least! The initial view and location is breathtaking and the new renovations definitely paid off. Our room was very modern and clean, and always well stocked. The bar was overpriced (17 for a beer and subpar bloody Mary), however I feel this is to be expected. Off the beaten path of downtown Falmouth but it is only a ten minute drive to get there. Would stay again!

The family was in Falmouth for a wedding so we all stayed at Sea Crest. We had a great time. The staff took great care of my grandparents and even provided a wheelchair for my Grandmother so she could join us at the outside pool area overlooking the beach. Enjoyed some nice meals overlooking the Ocean and cocktails at the bar in the evening. The indoor pool was really nice as well. A big thanks to the Sea Crest staff for taking such great care of my family and I.

An association that I belong to had a trade show at this resort. I had requested an ocean front room, which wasn't ready, but they upgraded me to a better room. Although the hotel had some renovations going on, the staff was very helpful and made us feel comfortable. I hope we can have our annual trade show there next year. The restaurant was great and an excellent gift shop which carries my book, Beach Chair Diaries, Summer Tales from Maine to Maui

Had a great time. Beautiful beach resort. Very friendly staff. Downfalls are standard room has the view of air conditioner unit but side view of ocean. The restaurant does not offer breakfast. The starbucks has very limited food choice. It was a cinnamon roll or croissant. You need to dirve if you want real breakfast. I wanted to have breakfast in the restaurant with the ocean view but didnt happen. I will go back!

Room Tip: If you want to save money and dont care about the room view go with standard room.

We stayed at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel on a last minute Memorial Day weekend trip, booked through Hotwire. We went in not knowing what to expect but came away pleasantly surprised and nicely relaxed. We've historically visited the outer ("lower") Cape over the last 25 years, so Falmouth and environs were relatively new and unexplored for us. In fact, during this trip, we took our two children to the Chatham Bars Inn, where we were married 20 years ago.

Actually, the CBI provides an interesting contrast and point of reference for the Sea Crest...

Where the Chatham Bars is plaids and Lily Pulitzer, the Sea Crest runs more toward bikinis and board shorts and more than a few full sleeve tattoos and butterfly lower back tattoos, too.

Where the CBI is cocktails and crab cakes on the veranda or the deck of the Beach House, the Sea Crest is boat drinks in plastic cups by the pool or overlooking the beach.

Where the CBI is 100-year old shingle style, gently renovated and added to till there is no greenspace left anywhere on its gold-coast locale, the Sea Crest is 60s and 70s resort motel tweaked tastefully to a fare-the-well (the renovations have taken the Sea Crest to another dimension, and the rooms in particular are amazing given their humble origins).

Where the CBI is formal, almost shy, and most definitely starchy service, the Sea Crest is just plain warm, kind, and friendly.

The beach at the Sea Crest is lovely coarse white sand, well manicured (you see Sea Crest employees out early raking and FODing and generally making things nice for the guests). The pool area is well appointed, and the towel attendants are the first I've ever encountered who don't act suspicious of your intentions when you ask for more than one towel at a time. And the buffet, while expensive at $18 per person, was tasty and the chefs and waitstaff were simply delightful.

The crowd at the Sea Crest isn't entirely my people... A lot of smoking, and even by three in the afternoon so far ahead in the bar that I decided against trying to catch up... But they were having fun and relaxing, and honestly, seemed a lot less stiff than the folks we encountered during our short visit at the Chatham Bars Inn. If down-to-earth fun, a beautiful beach, surprisingly well appointed rooms, and a warm, friendly staff work for you, this might be your Cape resort.
