If you are traveling to cape cod and around, this is definitely the best B&B. Falmouth is close to all the attractions and ferry to Martha's Vineyard is nearby. It has a few restaurants in town so you still have things to do in the evening.
The Inn is charming and quaint. We stayed at the oyster pond and its a good sized room for a small family. The ocean view is amazing for sunrise. Great breakfast and great host!

I have travelled all over the world and the Inn on the Sound gets 6 out of 5 stars!!! Where can I start...great views of the ocean...great location...super clean...all the amentities you would ever imagine...The best French Toast hands down...great coffee. The Inn is the only place to stay if you are travelling to Cape Cod. My wife and I enoyed our wedding anniversary at the Inn and Martha's Vineyard just after the Columbus day weekend. The most comfortable bed in the world with crisp fresh clean cotton sheets. We went to breakfast and when we returned our room was cleaned and our clothes were all folded neatly and organized. Don't waste your money at the Hilton or Four Seasons when you got the Inn on the Sound.

Room Tip: Choose a Ocean view room...youn can see Martha's Vineyard from the room balcony.

My wife and I had the good fortune to stay with Howard and Janet for a few days this fall. We noticed when we arrived that the inn was spotless and had an absolutely comforting feeling. The afternoon treats were wonderful and Howard explained the area and where to eat. All was great. The best was yet to come. The breakfast at the inn was second to none. Thank you folks for making our stay memorable.

We stayed at The Inn on the Sound at the beginning of September. This was the first time we had been on holiday and not stayed in a hotel and our experience was wonderful. The house more than met our expectations, our room was beautiful and Janet and Howard were fantastic hosts. Everything was 5* standard and we would not hesitate in recommending the Inn to anyone.

Highly recommend for a relaxed location and superb service.

Room Tip: Worth spending the extra for an ocean view with a balcony.

Our stay at Inn on the Sound was an excellent experience from start to finish. We arrived late due to the weather slowing down the Amtrak train from New York. Nevertheless, Howard was there to receive us with coffee and cake should we want them. Breakfast was from 8.30 - 11 although coffee or tea could be obtained earlier. I have never seen such elaborate displays with fruit outside of a 5* hotel, it seemed a pity to dive in. The cooked option was delicious and different every day. The room was very New England and very comfortable. The sheets were amazing and the bathroom accessories were high grade and replaced each day. Every morning the room was cleaned and the bed made.
Janet spent quite a while explaining where was good to go and how best to get there. There was also the facility to use a fridge and microwave should we wish to bring food/drink back. We met some lovely couples whilst we were there, breakfast was a very social ocassion. There are limited car parking spaces, but not a problem when we were there. It was our honeymoon and on the last night there was a bottle of champagne and sweets left in our room, a very sweet gesture. We would most definitely go back.

Room Tip: We chose the Chapaquoit beach room as it overlooked the beach.

It remains simply one of the best places we have stayed in, impeccable and tastefully decorated throughout. An exceptional standard with a warm and relaxed welcome from Jan and Howard. The gourmet breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit, granola, yogurts, cakes, biscuits and a hot entree which can be taken in the dining room or on the patio overlooking Vinyard Sound. Hot drinks and excellent homemade goodies are available throughout the day. Jan and Howard are very knowledgable about the area and help you to get the most out of your visit.
Every facility is available for guests including beach towels, deckchairs and an outdoor shower after a afternoon on the beach. Perhaps for me it is the standard of cleanliness throughout and the quality of the food that makes this place perfect for relaxing. It may be a little way out of the centre of Falmouth but do not let that put you off, its worth the walk. Its position therefore means it is quiet and peaceful which is another bonus. Simply outstanding.

Room Tip: Fiddlers cove gives you great vies over Vinyard Sound
