“Caboose dining”
Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

Went to dinner and sat in the caboose. Advantages...quieter and more private. Service great (Susan). Food fine and excellent selection. Prices ok. A must do again!

“Lucky to live so close”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

This is our go-to restaurant on busy days, and always a must when we come home from a long trip. It's very Cape-y inside, well decorated and clean. One of the dining areas is a refurbished caboose that kids absolutely love- two of the tables are accessed by a ladder. The food is consistently good, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The menu has changed a bit over the years, but they always have great sandwiches, seafood, steaks and fantastic lunch specials. They don't have fried food, so no fries folks-and I hope they never change. Don't even think about going on a weekend night in the summer, because they don't take reservations. Check out Uncle Bill's Country Store on the other side of the dining room. Even if you don't buy anything, it's fun to look around while you're waiting for your table.

“Excellent Weekend Lunch”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

My wife, mother-in-law, and I had lunch this past Sunday and we had a great time. Food was quite good: i had the baked beef stew with mashed potatoes. The sauce was savory, the beef was tender, and there were plenty of vegetables. My wife and mother-in-law both chose the baked scallops and they were pleased. All an in all, we enjoyed ourselves and were happy with our meals. Well done!

“Top favorite among locals for years”
Reviewed December 23, 2012 via mobile

I've dined at the Silver Lounge many times over the last ten years. It is a terrific spot and is always consistent. Food is excellent - seafood is always fresh. The swordfish is a particular favorite of mine. Excellent value with entrees coming with baked potato (won't find any French fries here!) and house salad. One of the few restaurants I've been to that actually serves Italian dressing with a salad versus a "house vinaigrette" that tastes nothing like Italian. Atmosphere is good - forewarned that some might judge it's a bit dark with all the dark wood, low lights, and marine paraphernalia around - but I think it's great, wouldn't change it a bit. And sitting in the caboose is a rite of passage and a big hit if you have kids. Service is always friendly, but what I would deem a "relaxed" pace - nothing wrong with that if you go in expecting it. Only thing I wish they would do is be on OpenTable (which would be somewhat rare for the rural Cape Cod area) or at least take some sort of reservations. In height of the busy season, be prepared to wait, but it's well worth it ...
