My wife is not a Mexican food fan, but she agreed to have lunch at Anejo at my pleading. We decided to eat al fresco to enjoy the day and the street scene. Our wait was reasonable and the reception area was very attentive.
Once seated, the experience went down hill. No one greeted us, we did not get our chip basket which normally comes out quickly. We waited an unusually long time to order a drink which is always the first point of contact. I actually got up to look for someone to wait on us. Our waitress was friendly but either poorly trained or confused. Our drinks took forever, the dinner took forever, the check took forever. Lunch took 2 hours, not because we lingered but simply from waiting for everything.
Unfortunately, our food was very good but the experience was disappointing. I don't see us returning. I think the place has been so popular that the management has dropped their quality standards.
