it was quick, friendly and you can bring your bikes. Staff was SO friendly and helpful on the Falmouth side- made my kids feel very special:)- unfortunately kind of rude on the MV side.

Thank you Meemsta for taking the time to write a review of our services on TripAdvisor. While I am pleased that you had a positive experience in Falmouth, I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations in Oak Bluffs. We expect our crew on the vessel and at both docks to provide the utmost in hospitality and safety for our passengers. The dock area in Oak Bluffs is owned by the town and consequently we are not able to provide physical structures to help manage and care for passengers while they ready for departure. We rely on our crew in Oak Bluffs to assist passengers and on some days the crew may be pulled in many directions and it appears that at times they may not be able to provide the hospitality and friendliness to the degree they should. I appreciate your feedback and we will continue to work with our crew in providing the best experience possible for our passengers. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you again in the near future. (Todd Bidwell, General Manager)

My wife and I went over with our dog, Patrick, to Martha's Vineyard. The cost was minimal, 20 bucks for a round trip.
Dogs on leashes are permitted and ride free.Ride was quick and uneventful.Small food stand on board. Parking was in the area and reasonable rates.Problem was lines moving onto ferry. People rush onto ferry. No lines set up or managed by staff so it's everyone for themselves in some cases to enter ferry.

I've always loved traveling on the Island Queen either for a day trip or a quick stay at the Vineyard. Parking is great and close to the harbor and the crew couldn't be nicer. I used to use the Pied Piper (also out of Falmouth) but I've been using the Island Queen due to the cheaper price and the fact that it takes you into Oak Bluffs rather than Edgartown. It is nice going into OB because you have easy access to transportation to go anywhere on the island thanks to the VTA buses. Also plenty to do in Oaks Bluff like fishing, parasailing, dining, etc. Great place to take the kids too with a nice beach within walking distance.
