“Great, fabulous, mouthwatering food... but buy some window shades”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

I've been to the restaurant no less than 4 times but I can't seem to stress enough to the owners and wait staff that the sun shining directly into your face while trying to talk with your other guests at your table isn't much fun at all. My wife put on her sun glasses for no less than 40 minutes. While it looked a bit funny, it was no joke as she was getting a headache. When we told the waitstaff she said, "Its not that bad"...

Simple fix: Either a valance or some retractable shades would make the restaurant a 5-star restaurant.

Can't say enough about the food. From the fish to the steak all was cooked perfectly! The dishes were excellent and served nice and hot. If you like chocolate ice cream, get it for desert. I was told this past weekend by the waitstaff its made on-premises.

“"Best food in Cape"”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

Great fine dining experience at a reasonable price. Food was perfect and service was very good at this busy place. Go early for dinner around 5 pm, otherwise wait could be very long. Parking could be an issue and I wish that they had a bigger parking for their customers.

The atmosphere is lovely, the service is wonderful and the food is perfect every time. Lots of selections, great wines and just a perfect place for a very special evening. The only negative is no reservations and it is ALWAYS very busy.

“"#1 on The Cape" Fine dining at it's best!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

If you want to be pampered then the Glass Onion is sure to please. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant. The white linen tablecloths, and numerous globes of candles makes for a perfect setting. The owners and staff go overboard with kindness and deliver an evening of very fine dining.

The food is consistently outstanding. The dishes are done to perfection. Once seated you’re given a surprise complimentary dish from the chef, always very impressive. Impressive is the wine selection. The bread is made on site, served hot and delicious. I usually start with the lobster bisque, so sweet and smooth. On many occasions I have ordered the fresh swordfish, so good. I always like to order a special, with such talent in the kitchen one would never be disappointed.

I was dining with a dear friend who wanted a strong high-flavored sweet liquor that they didn’t stock. Sure enough, the next time we were in the owner deliver that after dinner cordial. Being a little repetitious, the owners and staff do go overboard.

Do yourself a favor and visit my favorite Falmouth Gem!
