This was our second time staying at the Palmer House Inn and as always it was wonderful. The owners Bill & Pat were very helpful in suggestion on where to eat and what to do. The breakfast was fantastic! The Inn definitely makes you hold other B & B's to a higher standard. It was extremely clean and the staff was friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Henry James room (the penthouse) and it was beautiful. The jacuzzi tub and the king...

Dear Marcia H, Thank you for the excellent review. We are pleased that you enjoyed our breakfasts. During our first year as innkeepers, we decided to serve good old fashioned New England style breakfasts. I guess that we are doing the right thing because guests seem to enjoy our meals. Thanks for staying with us and consider a winter getaway to the Cape. The Falmouth Shops and restaurants are open all year and the Palmer House Inn will provide you with a warm cozy place to stay. Sincerely, Bill & Pat

We found this b&b to be way above the standard. The attention to details was phenonemonal. The room and house were immaculate. The breakfasts were wonderful. Bill and Pat were very friendly but not intrusive. The residence is within easy walking distance to town. I will be recommending this to all our friends and family. We hope to be able to return often.

Dear Allen K, We hope that you will be able to return also. Consider a winter or spring getaway. We will be having a series of Italian and Mexican cooking class weekends during the slow season. The shops and restaurants are open on Main street and we would enjoy seeing you. Always, Bill & Pat

Fantastic stay. My family and I have always found ourselves in Falmouth in the fall and winter when we have stayed at the Palmer House. Those visit were wonderful as well, but this year we came in June to enjoy the Cape in the busy season.

As always Bill an Pat were wonderfully accommodating with the children. We stayed in the cottage which has a separate bedroom for the kids, and a private porch and garden. The private accommodations made us feel as though we were not imposing on the rest of the guests with our kids.

Although an older building the cottage has been newly spruced up and is very comfortable. The refrigerator was great for keeping our own food and snacks, which we ate at the table in the indoor sitting area or on the porch outside.

The breakfasts were delicious and the wait staff was helpful with the children. For my picky eater there was always yogurt, toast, and cereal available.

Bill and Pat are great resources as well for everything from where to get the best lobster roll , pint, view, beach, and especially where to take the kids on a rainy day.

We will definitely be back to this wonderfully run B&B.

Thanks to Bill and Pat

Dear Deirdre, It was a pleasure to host you and your lovely family at our inn. The Cottage is the perfect accommodation for a family. Most guests who stay there enjoy the privacy of a separate building and the convenience of being close to the main inn for breakfast and afternoon refreshments. We are looking forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Bill & Pat

The location is great but I couldn't tell you about the rooms. My husband and I did a last minute trip to Falmouth for a couple of days and decided to go without reservations. I had a few places in mind but wanted to see the rooms in person and since it was mid week in mid September I was sure we could find a room. I had read the reviews about Palmer House so wanted to check it out. Unfortunately we were told we couldn't see the available rooms as a courtesy to the guests. I've never heard of such a thing. It was around noon and the weather was beautiful so I doubt many quests were even at the hotel. I wasn't asking to see an occupied room just the one that we were considering. So although I didn't actually stay at The Palmer House I feel I have to add my experience.

My wife and I stayed in the Guest House at the Palmer House Inn. That is just across the driveway from the main house. We were in the area for a wedding and stayed 8 days at the Inn.

First of all, the place is quiet, the Inn Keepers do not hover over you, and the servers are respectful and polite. Even though the place was relatively full, we felt like we were the only ones there.

The sheets on the bed and the towels are amazing, so much so that we purchased some on line, even before we left! It is amazing what wonderful sheets and towels do for your stay in any Hotel or B&B.

The bed was very good. I could have slept on it for years. No hot spots at all.
The Breakfast is from 8 - 9:30 every morning. You sit in this quaint room with the doors open to the birds chirping and fresh air. The girls that work there, serving the food, cleaning the rooms, etc. are from Europe. They are very polite, professional, and added to the restful experience!

The food is gourmet and delicious! In fact, the Inn Keepers have a recipe book for sale on site. They also have bikes to use - no charge. They have beach towels just outside the doors in baskets when your going to the beach. In fact, we even asked them for some beach chairs - no charge! They are very accommodating!

They are located a two minute walk from the best restaurant in the whole town - The Glass Onion. Also, they are minutes walking distance from the downtown area. Every Thursday from noon to 6pm there is a farmers market in the downtown area.

We enjoyed walking all over town and felt safe doing it.

If you enjoy hiking, go to the Highfield Hall. Just west of it is the Beebe Woods. There are hiking trails all over that place - absolutely beautiful. We hiked to this picturesque pond on the West side. Of course there is Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

The Palmer House Inn is located in the best spot of all of the B&B's, it is quiet, and comfortable. I highly recommend it. It truly is part of the experience when you visit the Falmouth area!

By the way, the whole place is no smoking. It's great!

Dear Mark-P, Many thanks for your fabulous review. It was a pleasure to be your hosts. One of the most delicate balancing acts of being an innkeeper is being available to our guests but not hovering over them. Thank you for letting us know that we have hit the mark. Bill & Pat

No detail is spared in this lovely bed and breakfast. Everything was picture perfect and the service was impeccable. The breakfasts were fabulous and the owners went out of their way to be helpful. And the location is perfect as well -- within easy walking distance of a variety of restaurants, local museums, the beautiful commons, and the 11 mile Shining Sea bike path.

Room Tip: Each room is different. Go to the B&B's website to check them out.

Dear SURJ, Thank you, thank you for the excellent review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will visit with us again. The Palmer House Inn is open for advanced reservations during the quiet season. We have a lively group of guests who enjoy staying with us for Thanksgiving, Holidays by the Sea Weekend (Dec. 1st. & 2nd.), Christmas, New Years and of course the Palmer House Inn is the place to be during Valentine's Month. This winter we will also be having a series of Mexican and Italian cooking class weekends.

All of the Main Street restaurants and shops are open and they feature seasonal specials and sails. Falmouth is a great place to spend a mimi fall, winter or spring vacation. Always, Bill & Pat

I have stayed at the Palmer House in July for the last 2 years at the recommendation of a friend. My stay both times has been a pleasure, Pat and Bill do a fantastic job of taking care of everything. The breakfast alone is well worth coming back for! I plan on being back again next summer and would recommend the Inn to anyone who has business in the area!
