“Typical motel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

We enjoyed our stay at this reasonably-priced motel. It was great to be able to bring our dog and stay so close to all the stores. It was not fancy or deluxe but it fit our needs. We did not use the swimming pools, but people were having fun in the pools when we were there.

Typical shore line hotel. Needs updating, but rooms are spacious and a great location if going to Martha's Vineyard. Close to shopping, easy to find. Average value for the area. Safe neighborhood. Indoor and outdoor pools are nice, but forget the ice makers. There were very few people staying at the hotel when were there yet none of the ice makers seemed to have any ice to offer.

The Inn was very old and in need of extensive renovations but the location was great and it had a beautiful outdoor pool and an indoor pool which was awesome for children. The room had two double beds and was very large but the bathroom was very small and needed some TLC. The shower pressure was poor and the water was luke-warm at best.

This place isn't fancy. From the outside it doesn't look like much at all. It's situated in the middle of the iffy part of falmouth- it has a little old school charm and that's pushing it. For the price it is great. For us traveling with a large family it was perfect. More than enough room to spread out and after a day riding bikes all day on the Vineyard the kids relaxed their muscles in the in-room whirlpool. They have a large outdoor pool in the middle of the property so it's easy to go back and forth. The indoor pool was fine. The continental breakfast was sufficient and saved us money and time. The staff was great and very helpful with area information. Thank you Tammy.
LOVED the fact that we could pre-purchase ferry tix AND ride our bike to the ferry-thus saving money and time in parking there, (it was abou 1.5 miles away-even my barely 4 year-old could do the ride).
If you are looking for a reasonable, convenient and clean place to crash with your family while you're in the area- this is great. It's not a resort so don't expect that.

For the management-a couple of ideas that I think would really great:)
1. There is a deck overlooking the outdoor pool. It's got this funky sixties thing going on and it would be a really great little spot to order cocktails and light fare light burgers and dogs for the family. the pool is big and nice- it could use a little bit of a face-lift.
2. It would be awesome if there a full kitchenette like a toaster and small stove top or hot plate. There appears to be the room for it.
3. A bike rack would be great as well. We travelled with all of our bikes and it is a pain to store them. I saw a lot of other travelers there with bikes as well.
4. A shuttle to the ferry/woods hole/ downtown would also be a great addition.

Room Tip: the two story rooms are very spacious for families.

Hotel lost power for my whole stay-no lights, cable, phone, hot water, air conditioning, etc and it was extremely difficult to arrange any sort of refund. Dissatisfied with my stay and the customer service.

Would stay again. Was apprehensive after reading more reviews after I had booked and paid a deposit, but it's not nearly as bad as most of these reviews would have you believe.
The rooms are good sized, clean, and comfortable. They're not close to ultra chic like a downtown boutique hotel, but they're plenty decent, especially for the price. I had a hard time finding vacancies in the area for our mid-August 4-night stay, but this place had space and, unbelievably, a summer discount (see their website), which saved us like $50+ off the price from a regular online booking on their site. The only rooms available, though, were pet friendly ones, and we were concerned about smells, etc, but the rooms were fine. So, plus half a star for the good deal.
Minus half a star for the following, as a whole:
*An occasional bit of ugly-colored condensation drip from the bathroom fan/light, which made my wife request a room change
*A fridge in the new room (409) that was sometimes noisy for a while, but surprisingly no one in the family complained
*Wrong-sized sheets for the king bed one night
*WiFi with a pretty limited range from the main lobby (we couldn't get access from our rooms in the annex building)

Other tidbits:
*The tube TVs have lousy pictures but the channel selection is good.
*The breakfast is basic/decent enough, as expected (breads, cereals, hot waffles, boiled or steamed? (but cold) eggs, apples). The breakfast room was never overcrowded.
*Friendly staff
*Large supermarket across the street with inexpensive lobster rolls that the family liked
*The indoor pool looked fine to me. My younger one went in a couple times and had no complaints. Would be nice if it stayed open longer, like until 10 or 11.
*The nearby 99 restaurant (chain place) is good for value dinners.
*The overall indoor/outdoor decor is fine, not the latest but not shabby and not in as much need of an update as others suggest.

We were just looking for a place to crash the night before our day trip to Martha's Vineyard, and picked the Admiralty Inn since it was cheaper than most of the others. For that price, I could deal with the barely-working low-def TV, and even the wifi signal not reaching our room in the back. But queen sheets on a King bed? Seriously, guys? Even cheap hotels should be able to handle basic things like making the bed right. Whoever made up the room obviously decided it wasn't worth the trouble to go back for the right size sheets and just left it like that.

On the plus side, the bed was big, and the room wasn't bug infested, so it wasn't a total fiasco. But no, we would not stay there again.
