“Best meal in Fall river, authentic Portugese, well worth visiting”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Just a brief note to say that our experience at Sagres this past summer--arrived just before lunch on a Sunday, beating the local rush that soon followed--was in all ways positive.

From the heavenly tradition that is their kale soop, to the steaks (thin, so order more rare than you would normally), and the fantastic Portugese white wine that was recommended. Service was friendly and attentive, even when the after-church crowd came in. We were dressed much more casually than most after a day on the water, but had heard the raves and wanted to try it on the way home.

These days, many restaurants strive for authenticity in their chosen genre. It's always great to see a place that doesn't have to do anything but just be who they are.

Glad we went, and we're headed back tonite with friends before an evening out for music at the nearby Narrows Center for the Arts. Check it out for yourself. Reasonable prices, too.

“So good we went back the next day”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We were referred to this restaurant by the desk clerk at our hotel. Although it was Friday evening, we were seated almost immediately at a "quiet table in a corner" were we could see and hear a woman singing Portuguese songs. I've never had Portuguese food before, and if this is what it's like, I want more. I don't remember the names of the dishes, but they were all well prepared and the waiter made very good suggestions for wine. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we brought friends back the next evening.

“Just finished our meal”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

On our way to Cape Cod we stopped ai Sagres for a late lunch. What a nice surprise! I felt like I was in the Iberian peninsula. Great authentic Portugese fare. Seafood was super fresh and tasty. Also, very fairly priced. Wine list can be improved and the flan was a bitt too cartelized for my taste. Great find!

“The BEST in Fall River!!!!!!”
Reviewed August 29, 2012 via Local Picks

Many of the reviews here say that Sagres is the best Portuguese restaurant in Fall River. Yes, this is true but I will go better than that. It is THE best restaurant in Fall River........period! This is why I dine there often. This is a very popular restaurant. It is usually busy at lunchtime as well as dinner. Perfect for entertaining guests! The food is excellent using the best of traditional Portuguese recipes cooked up by talented chefs. One of the many factors that make Sagres so good is that they use fresh ingredients. Fresh beef, fresh fish & seafood, fresh everything is brought in daily. My tip for you is try the Cornish Hen.
