This place was awesome. The facility, location and the help we received from the staff was outstanding. The Breakfast provided in the atrium was an added plus. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I cannot wait to go back.

We had a wonderful trip on the island and were really in the middle of all the fun Edgartown had to offer! The hotel room was very clean, comfortable and had an amazing view of the water and the boats! We were so thrilled they offered parking, as parking all around the island is tough. The white shutter windows were such a nice island touch. The decor was light and airy and had beautiful photography all around. We used the fitness center as well which was great. We would definitely come back here and stay again! Only negative is when we called to set up wake up calls, they were about 15 min or later every day, and one day we didn't receive one at all.

Thank you for your nice review. We are pleased you enjoyed our views, sparkling clean rooms and great downtown location. We especially appreciate your compliments on the custom island photography gracing our walls and our "beach house" style shutters. We apologize for the slightly delayed wake up call. We do find that sometimes guests don't hear our first ring, and our follow-up ring is indeed a few minutes later. We hope you choose to stay with us again and we'll ensure a persistent ring!

We stayed four nights at this quaint hotel located in the middle of everything. Love the location, stores in front of the hotel, all restaurants are in walking distance. The hotel was clean and comfortable but the service was left to be desired. Arrived on a Friday and ask the hotel staff for recommendations for a restaurant, her answer was they all are good and we have the menus you can look at. Then we ask if we needed reservation, her answer was no, restaurants here don't take reservations. We assumed that was the truth so we walk to 3 restaurants and they all were booked with reservations! We ended up eating around 9:00 pm - two hours after we started walking into restaurants! We asked the same lady, where we can find a place to go to go have a glass of wine and a cheese plate, her response was the grocery store! we were baffled and of course we didn't not go to the grocery store but google it and found that just right behind the hotel there was a cute little restaurant that offer exactly what we were looking for. There was also another one just a block away. Oh, and be aware that there is no elevator. The hotels website offers a view of the harbor from the 4th floor veranda open to all guest. Every time we try to go it was locked! Recommend the hotel but don't ask the staff for anything, google all information you will need.

We apologize that our normally exceptional customer service was not on display during your visit. As the busy summer ramps up, we are in the midst of training some new staff who are not as familiar with the restaurant options as our longer-term employees. We have made some shift changes to ensure that our concierge services will not suffer again while training continues. We are glad you enjoyed our wonderful location and clean rooms and hope you return to experience what is truly the keystone of Vineyard Square Hotel -- our service.

We travelled to Martha's Vineyard for a 4 night vacation and having read some great reviews had high expectations !
When arriving we were not disappointed. Fantastic location right in the heart of town, excellent service as we checked in and offers of recommendations from restaurants to bike hire to boat trips if we wanted. We were treated very well by the staff who were able to deal with any issues we had and could not have been more helpful - Thank you Wes and the team !
Fresh cookies daily were a big hit with a cup of tea or coffee that is available 24 hours a day.
Fantastic location, clean well kept friendly hotel and I would recommend to anyone who is visiting the Vineyard either as a family vacation or couples relaxing retreat.

Room Tip: The Suites are fantastic - spacious, clean and well equipped.

We had an amazing time on the Island. Our first time there and we chose the perfect hotel,The Vineyard Square. The minute we arrived we knew, we met Wess , he checked us in with a warm spirit and a smile. Our room was so pretty, and had a bay view. The windows had shutters and the bed was so comfortable. They offered a delicious continental breakfast with warm ham and cheese croissants. We were located in the middle of town, perfection. We walked everywhere, food, shopping and even the lighthouse. We appreciated the excellent service from the staff, and once they knew it was my birthday, they went out of there way to make it memorable. Kindness counts in life, and this place has it. That should be their motto. They have it in abundance. Thank you to Wess, Joanne, and Nina for a fantastic trip. Excellent!

Room Tip: Room 403 is perfection, and don't miss breakfast, and oh ya make sure you meet Wess.

Wow! What a lovely review. We appreciate your kind words and for calling us 'kind." That is an amazing compliment. Our whole focus is on being "getaway central" and making your getaway special. Your requests rev up our dedication to service, so it is always great to get a written review or recommendation that focuses on that! So glad you enjoyed our new, wonderful beds and our breakfasts, as well. We look forward to welcoming you back again to The Square the next time you visit The Vineyard!

Room 301 is the way to go! A beautiful suite with separate living room (with faux fireplace), comfy couch and chair and a very nice view. The beds are so comfy, a treat after a long day out and about.
The staff is warm and wonderful. They make you feel at home right away. Breakfast on the outside patio is so charming. I commented to my husband that I felt like we were in Key West. No need to bring beach accessories, they are all there: towels, umbrellas, chairs and even bikes waiting to be taken for a spin.
The lighthouse is just a short walk from the hotel. The water was Caribbean like. Very few people on the beach.
My teenage sons had a double room on the same floor. They loved their room and commented on how comfortable their beds were.
The hotel's location is perfect for teens. There is so much they can do. There's a movie theatre right in town, plenty of shopping and ice cream shops, and the beach is a short walk from the hotel.

We will certainly return to Vineyard Squares. We feel we will be returning to see old friends. You're not just a room number at Vineyard Squares, but a new friend.

Love getting a review on our new beds! They are comfy, aren't they? All new in 2013. We are so glad you had a great time and enjoyed your suite, our great downtown location and our complimentary beach amenities. We also love that you compared the vibe of The Square with Key West! We like to think we are a place to kick back, relax and watch the world go by. We look forward to your next visit to Getaway Central!

30% off during restaurant week, made our "cozy queen" affordable and the location is FANTASTIC. I didn't need the ocean view so it didnt matter to us. The building is old and they have done quite a bit of remodeling - but it is a noisy building that can be ignored by the simplicity and clean lines of their comfort. Bath robes, salt water taffy (or other little treats), wonderful toiletries, plush high bed, our smaller room was not cramped and it was bright and lovely spot to drop our stuff off and work and wander. They have a funny attempt at afternoon tea, but it is also charming - twinnings tea and some home baked cookies... cute. Bfast is a nice continental, enough to get you going. The staff is WONDERFUL! I really could rave for days about the service and the people behind the story. Location is PERFECT EVERYTHING in Edgartown is near. Can't wait to come back next year!

Room Tip: Talk with the front desk and tell them your needs. The remodeled structure made the most of the spa...
