“Great Place to Stay While Exploring MV”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2007

Very pleasant stay at the Clarion. I would highly recommend this hotel. My husband and I found the rooms nicely appointed, comfortable, and most of all very clean. (By the way, the room decor is much nicer than what the pictures show). It might have been coincidence but I have rarely slept so soundly while traveling as I did here. The location is very convenient. The rooms have small refrigerators which is perfect given that the grocery store is right next door. Even the continental breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly and you can’t beat the price. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was exactly what we expected from a AAA triple diamond hotel which is why I am rating it "excellent". . It was very clean, good continental breakfast and very pleasant staff. We were allowed to check in two hours early since our room was ready. Room was set at a comfortable temperature and everyting was what you would expect in a three diamond room. The hotel itself had computer facilities and a cable television in the lounge/breakfast room. It is approximately a ten minute walk from Edgartown center which made it very convenient.

Do not expect harbor/ocean views from this room....we didn't so hotel was as expected. I would recommend the Clarion for anyone who is looking to spend less than $250 for a room in Edgartown.

We would stay there again

Just got back from the vineyard tonight and had a great 3 days with our 3 kids, (14,13, and 5). The clarion was nicer than the pictures. It sits on a busy road just a little ways from the town center. The room was very clean and when we needed more pillows or towels, the front desk took care of it within 5 minutes. The beds were good but the pillows felt a little like liquid cement after 8 hours on them. There was a faint smell of smoke in the hall way but not at all in our room. We were on the 2nd floor (it only has two) so the hotel room had a cathedral ceiling that made putting 5 people in a room feel comfortable and not too crowded. There is a restaurant on sight (the Grill). My husband and I went down stairs without the kids and sat in the small bar to have appetizers. Very nice. We loved walking/biking around BEAUTIFUL Edgartown, but use caution, it is scary with cars pulling out all over. We would return to the clarion again. (use your AAA card, it saved us a bundle! Our room was only $211 each night}.

The hotel was fantastic and the staff was very helpful.
The location is great -- just a 10-minute walk to the 'touristy' area of Edgartown. We walked to the restaurants on the water as well as the shops on Main Street.
The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The restaurant on the premises was very good.
There is a supermarket right next door and a Dairy Queen across the street. The hotel also provides a complimentary continental breakfast.
We definitely recommend this hotel to any traveler.

Leave your car on the mainland - there is plenty of public transportation and the bus drivers are very friendly and helpful.

I found the Clarion a good fit for my travel needs.

Great location - near bus stop, bike trail, downtown Edgartown, plus walk 50 yards to supermarket.

Large room includes refridgerator, iron & board, normal hotel perks and wireless Internet access.

Continental breakfast (which is hard on an island with so many breakfast choices) fresh juice, bagels, toast, nice/helpful front desk, and basement to park a bicycle if necessary.

The price was favorable in comparison to other lodging in the Vineyard.
I'd recommend to others and stay here again.

We stayed at the Clarion during the summer of 2002. It is in a good location on the main road into Edgartown, and you can easily walk to the center of town in about 10 minutes. The hotel itself is very average. We had a large room overlooking the parking lot. The room was okay, but we had requested a non-smoking room and were told they were all booked. The hotel is back off the street, so it was quiet. The continental breakfast was average. There is also a restaurant on the property (we didn't eat there). If you're not planning to do more than sleep in your room, this is an okay place for the money.
