This is the second time our family has gone to the Winnetu and it was even better than I remembered it. We had a room on the second floor with a view of the ocean and the beautifully manicured grounds. Our well appointed room was a suite with a master bedroom, a living room, dinning room, full kitchen and large deck. It fit the four of us [me, my husband and our two teens] perfectly. The grounds are well kept and they have plenty of activities for families -- fuse ball, ping pong, giant chess, putting green, library, tennis, play area for small kids, outdoor heated pool and work out room. Though the highlight is the 5 minute walk to South Beach which is an incredible white sand beach -- Each room has it's own beach towels and back-pack beach chairs. Our room came with breakfast which was a full selection of hot and cold items plus a to order omelet bar. We ate in the Lure restaurant two nights -- it's very convenient and the food is great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They do a wonderful job catering to families while still providing a romantic get-away destination.

Room Tip: The top floor has the best views and is the quietest.

My husband and I stayed for four nights in an Edgartown suite, the layout of which provides both living room and bedroom access to a private ocean-view balcony. The suite was great as a home away from home, very well-equipped and easily within reach of Edgartown and its lovely restaurants. We stayed on the second floor. If we were going to visit MV again, we would reserve our room early enough to get the third floor, which provides an unobstructed view of the ocean and eliminates noise from above.

One note of disenchantment for Winnetu. Our four-night midweek stay included a buffet breakfast. We were surprised by Winnetu handing us a bill every morning charging us a compulsory "automatic gratuity" of 18%. I would encourage Winnetu to eliminate this petty practice for guests, nearly all of us paying significant nightly rates.

Room Tip: Edgartown suites give private balcony and ocean view for living room and for bedroom. Choose third floor, the top.

We recently participated in the Inter-Island promo that the Winnetu offered last weekend. It was great! We enjoyed our visit to the Winnetu and Martha's Vineyard very much! The resort is beautiful and sort of what we expected having seen The Nantucket Resort on our Island.
We ate both dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was fabulous!
It was fun to visit our sister Island and stay at such a comfortable, beautiful resort.
We plan to come back on our own next year and stay longer!
Thank you Greg and thank you Mark for organizing such a wonderful time!

Through the wonderful consideration of the owner and staff of the Winnetu, our getaway to the 'other' island was perfect. From the friendly welcome, the accommodating shuttle drivers and the impeccable service by our waiter, Jason, the visit was perfect. The spacious accommodations with a view of the ocean and overwhelming amenities made for a relaxing stay. Dinner at Lure was not only well presented, but absolutely delicious. Our evening jaunt in Edgartown was filled with much fun (even in light of the Ryder Cup loss). From the local feel of the Wharf to the more upscale bar at the Atlantic there are many great places for a cocktail. We enjoyed shopping in the more unique stores the next day and did our part in supporting the retail economy! And what's a trip to the dock without a visit to the local tackle shop ... thanks Capt. Porky for sharing some great fishing stories. Looking forward to another visit.
