“Very relaxing and peaceful”

The Winnetu Oceanside resort is a very nice place for families with small children. We went there based on the reviews and we found that they were right. Our 21 month old enjoyed himself in the lawns, with the gian chess set, the toddler sized deck chairs, the swimming pool and the fire truck ride. The adults can relax and unwind, go for a swim, a cycle ride or play tennis. Over-all, an enjoyable (if a little expensive) vacation.

If coming to the island with young children, this is great place to stay. We chose June because prices go up the closer to busy season. The rooms are large and nice, but not necessarily worth the price, but what is in MV?
Make sure to meet Greg the concierge. He is the best of any hotel/resort I have ever visited! Roderick the GM is also very friendly and helpful if you get to meet him.

We saw couples/with kids/without/old and young. My husband and I travel'd with my handicapped adult son and a friend to watch him when we went out. Everyone was kind and understanding. My husbands only gripe was that we didn't get a free newspaper every morning. (he always has something to gripe about!) and the dryer made a squeaky noise when in operation. I'm sure it would have been fixed if we had said something. The towel bar fell of the wall in bathroom wall while there and it was fixed promptly. I didn't get a chance to check out the fitness/activity center down the road from hotel, and we didn't eat in the resturant while there. So much to do in MV and so little time! Anyway, stay was excellent and grounds are beautiful! Great place to vacay.

Breathtaking ocean views and grounds, superior well appointed suite with kitchen, and a very caring and knowledgeable staff. There are many programs for children, and is an ideal family spot.

Room Tip: Use the hotel's concierge to help you.

Amazing food, service, and accommodations. They even had a kids play area in the back of the restaurant!

We have been to Winnetu once back in 2009 toward the end of August. It is a beautiful resort in such a lovely location, but staff was very limited being that it was the end of the season. Now, this year (June 2011) we have been trying (unsuccessfully) to make reservations and we are unable to get through to make a reservation. They have very limited hours to make reservations (especially on weekends). Two times after waiting extensive periods of time on hold waiting for a reservation agent, our call was abruptly dropped shortly after the official "end time" of the reservation calling time! Then, when we tried to book by internet, after putting in the days we'd like to stay, we were told that they do have limited availability, but that we must call. Of course, when we call, we are either put on hold, or told to leave a message or call during other hours. While this is a lovely resort, it sure is a pain to try to stay there. Not sure what that is all about!?! I'd say they likely have staffing issues again. Just be prepared for that!

Room Tip: swimming pool was very very cold!

My family and I did Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard with our kids. We absolutely loved this resort. First of all it is relatively new. The grounds are beautiful. Our children were busy with things to do from morning until late afternoon.
The staff was real helpful. Two standouts were Tim and Greg. Greg actually saw us out one night and even remembered our kids names!
The room was comfortable and very nice. If we ever get back to the east coast again, we would definatly go back!
