“Good food, poorly run”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2011

Although the food here was very good, this place is poorly run. They were out of key ingredients for several dishes, and the wait was pretty outrageous for a cafe.

“Great Coffee; Breakfast sandwich average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2011

While staying on the Vineyard last week, we happened upon MacPhail’s Corner Café while en route to another coffee shop in Edgartown for my daily coffee fix / breakfast and decided to give MacPhail’s a try.

My Latte was great – better than the other coffee shop – and I appreciate that they only serve Organic Fair Trade coffee.

Their breakfast sandwich – toasted bagel with egg, cheese and bacon – was just OK. The bagel was warm, not toasted, the filling pre-made in advance so that no substitutions could be made on the cheese (they offered to scrape off the American Cheese already on the bottom of the filling &/or add a slice of a different kind of cheese) and the egg filling was quite wet (Too much butter? Moisture created during microwave reheating?)

Although the small café has attractive photographs adorning the walls I would not recommend eating in the café as the drink cooler is incredibly loud, coupled with two noisy air conditioners (running at full blast with the front door wide open) so the noise level was quite high.

I would go back for a latte; I’d skip getting a breakfast sandwich unless we were in a hurry and wanted something to go.

Waited 10 minutes to get the most watered down ice coffee I have ever had. Wanted to return it but didn't feel like waiting in line again.

“Great Breakfast Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2010

Great coffee. Great service. And the best breakfast sandwiches ever. I loved the English muffin, sausage, egg and cheese. Also comes in ham or bacon for $3.25. Great value and even better food. Our breakfast nearly everyday.
