We stayed at the Victorian Inn for a weekend in October. It was a wonderful and warm inn. The owners were extremely gracious and helpful. It meant all of our expectations and more. Location is perfect. I highly recommend The Vic Inn!

Location was great, food was great and the Inn was great. Although we did not need help, Steve comes across as a nice guy who would do anything in his power to ensure that you had a perfect stay. Thank you again, go Sox

Perfect and relaxing. Great location in Edgartown. Stephen and Karyn go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and take great care of the Inn. The breakfasts are incredible; each day got better and better. The staff is happy and friendly. The room (#10) had a great view of the harbor with a private deck and with the windows open had a constant cool breeze. We rented a car and Stephen took the time to write out a detailed tour of the island for us. He gave us a cooler for our beer and offered towels and whatever else we needed. We will be back for sure. A great stay.

Based on all the great reviews on this site, we booked our stay at the Victorian Inn. While it wasn't a bad stay, there were things that didn't live up to our expectations. As this was a special celebration for my husband, we splurged and paid $385/night to stay on the third floor.

The rooms - When I first called to book a room 6 months ago, I spoke with Karyn. As this was a special occasion for us I knew I wanted one of the rooms with a balcony on the third floor. Karyn described the differences in the room by bed type (king vs. queen, canopy vs. 4 poster) and whether balcony faced street or patio. All the rooms on the third floor were available at the time and we decided to pick a king facing patio (room 14). The room itself was fine. Very clean and tidy. My one issue with the room was the bathroom. Besides being very small in general, the shower stall was extremely small and in the shape of a triangle. The shower stall was as wide as the shower spray and as deep as the shower spray. Meaning if you were in the stall, you were under the spray, there was no area to step aside. This proved very difficult when first getting in the shower as you can't turn on the shower head unless you're inside the stall as the water shoots right out the stall door. One morning I peeked in another third floor room that was being made up and they had a full-size shower stall, so obviously not all the rooms have this odd-shaped shower. We were really suprised and disappointed that Karyn hadn't mentioned these differences in the bathroom when we were making a decision as to what room to book. My only other issue was that there was no outside lighting on the balcony (either a fixture or candles) It would have been so nice to sit out there at night, but it was too dark.

The innkepers - Steve & Karyn are nice people. Karyn is very quiet, doesn't say much, Steve is extremely outgoing and very talkative. They do really leave it up to you to make your own reservations (they provide a phone in the parlor and phone numbers). Steve did provide a map for us to drive around the island with various items marked. He did mismark a few items which left us driving around for a
half hour trying to find something. I had called several months prior
to our arrival to inquire about booking a boat charter, something that my husband really wanted to do. Steve had mentioned the boat Vela, which only takes 6 people max and is great no need to book in advance just do so when we get there. Unfoturnately that boat
wasn't in Martha's Vineyard this year and all the other boat charters
were booked for the days we were there.

Breakfast - The coffee is really good and the cinnamon sour cream muffins and corn bread are truly delicious. The omelettes, pancakes, and such were okay. The pastries and coffee is what stands out. The girls that provide service at breakfast and clean the rooms are very sweet and a true delight. We were very disappointed one morning during breakfast when Steve was reprimanding one of the girls who was
in-training. (He didn't like the fact that she hadn't cleared away the syrup at the same time she cleared the plates). I thought it was really unprofessional to have that conversation on the patio and not in the kitchen out of earshot of the guests, especially as it made us feel uncomfortable.

This place is perfect for its convenience to all the activities/
restaurants in Edgartown. At this price point we had a bit of a higher expectation. There are certainly many other options that would
be as convenient and perhaps offer more value.

1st time visitor--booked a last-minute weekend reservation and lucked out due to a cancellation. Well the Victorian is spectacular: It's 1/2 block from all the action of Edgartown. It was nice to walk to dinner, bars, etc. And the hosts are so gracious--fresh muffins and cookies, amazing breakfast--french toast with a corn flake coating. Yum! We rented bikes next door and rode to "South Beach" and ate the freshest seafood we've ever had at Larsen's in Menemsha. Only regret was not being able to extend our stay.

What a beautiful place; the attention to detail in the rooms is astounding for a structure this old. Everything is completely updated and the decorating is beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is to die for, and the husband and wife team that own the inn are delightful. We would absolutely stay here again.

I recently spent three days along with my husband at The Victorian Inn. The room was very clean and decorated nicely. The inn was steps away to shopping and restaurants. The innkeepers (Steve and Karyn) were super. Steve was very informative when we asked for advice on restaurants etc. The breakfast each day was absolutely scrumptious. Fresh fruit salad, home baked muffins with raspberry butter and then three choices of a breakfast entree. I would highly recommend this inn if you are a planning to visit The Vineyard.
