We visited the Anchorage on the Cove this September for a nice family getaway from Boston with our toddler and our dog. Inside, the cabin is comfortable, clean and has all of your basic amenities. The views are spectacular, the deck was heavenly and the grounds were impeccable. Kathy and Dennis are some of the kindest and friendliest innkeepers we have met and went out of their way to make sure our visit was great (including an offer to take us on their boat so we could visit the local cove seals - see pics below!). Their dog Spencer and ours, Dewey, were fast friends. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, you should definitely check out The Anchorage on the Cove. We'll definitely be back.

This was our first time staying here. We were so lucky to find this little tucked away gem! It also had a couple of dog-friendly cottages! The property owners Kathy & Dennis were absolutely wonderful! Kathy greeted us with wonderful maps and information booklets for the area and both she and Dennis offered us great suggestions on local restaurants, beaches, and places to go. The Pilot House - the cottage we stayed in was pristine clean and wonderfully quiet. We could hear the softness of the cove behind the property and that was wonderful! The cottage was equipped for housekeeping, and we took advantage of their additional linen service which provided bed linens and towels etc. The cottage had a great kitchen, wonderful dining area that looked out the back to an expansive view of the cove, a large back porch, two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, and a large living room area with a gas fireplace which was great as it was cold while we where there. We were there for 4 full days and are planning another visit as soon as we can for next season! And the real judge of quality is our very energetic 14-year old pup who gives it a 4 paw rating! She is very particular and was able to relax and sleep through the night along with the both of us! She had a great time and like us, was sorry to leave!

Room Tip: Traditional Cape Cod Cottages, Wonderful Views & Relaxation!

Dennis, Kathy and Spencer the lab are wonderful hosts - generous, warm and informative. They really want to share their corner of paradise with you and want to be sure you are happy and enjoying yourselves. Topsail cottage is lovely and relaxing with your own deck right over the water. We were 3 adults there for a week, and it felt comfortable and and plenty spacious. A true cozy Cape cottage, well furnished and with comfortable beds. Hanging out on the deck and watching the sun, water, birds, seals and fish was one of our favorite activities of the entire trip. We will definitely return to Anchorage again and again. Thanks for a great vacation.

Room Tip: Topsail is a great cottage right on the water and very quiet. It is not one of the pet-available cottages, but it is great.

We had a wonderful time with our dog on the Cape at Anchorage on the Cove. Kathy and Dennis were super and the accomodations at the Bell Buoy cottage were wonderful. It was a quaint lilttle cottage with a nice deck (wonderful place for breakfast each morning) and a gas fireplace for those cool Sept nights. The location in Eastham was great to get to the CCNS beaches where we sat, read and enjoyed the waves. If you're looking for a great spot convenient to the beaches (bay-side and ocean-side) as well as great restaurants - this is it.

The delightful innkeepers at Anchorage on the Cove -- Kathy, Dennis, and Spencer the pup -- have shared and truly achieved their dream of an enchanting spot for guests.... Especially for those traveling with pooches! Charming, comfortable, and well thought through accommodations await you! Considerate touches are provided, such as maps, movies, nice stemware -- and even a lint brush! (Essential while traveling with a dog!) Absolutely unparalleled front row views of the Town Cove in Eastham, can be yours... We were even treated to a triple rainbow over our cottage during our visit! This would be an amazing place to rent every cottage and apartment and have an unforgettable family reunion, memorable wedding or outstanding retreat.

Room Tip: As of 2012, Pet Friendly Accommodations are limited to the Bell Buoy Cottage and the Top Deck Apartment at Anchorage on the Cove. We stayed in both. The Bell Buoy Cottage is a remodeled boathouse featuring a Queen Bed in the Master Bedroom with another small room containing two twin beds. The quaint living room also has a futon -- and a nice flat screen TV. The deck on this cottage is absolutely ideal -- right on the water -- and extends the living space significantly. It also has narrow slats on the railing so there is no concern about a smaller dog (or child) falling through. We brought a portable gate with us to block the deck entrance, so we could let the dog out onto the deck with total peace of mind. This space is absolutely ideal for two adults and two kids... and a dog! Technically there are three levels to this space, so if mobility is a concern, and you're traveling with a dog, the Top Deck Apartment is another option... This apartment is well suited for someone traveling alone with a dog and/or a couple. It is not on the water, but still enjoys a great view from the big bay window. The deck is less private at this accommodation than the Bell Buoy Cottage because of a shared entrance on the east side of the building. There is another entrance on the west side which is very helpful as it feels more private and is closer to the parking area for easier baggage transport. There are also fewer steps in this accommodation if accessibility is a deciding factor in where to stay. Suggestion: spring for the affordable linens and towel rentals which are offered. It made life much easier.
