There were six of us including two well behaved 8 year olds. We had been at this restaurant in its many different incarnations over the years, but this was our first visit to Oaxaca. They have decorated the place nicely, but it is a large restaurant and the decorations are a little sparse. Our waitress was very pleasant, but the service was not good. The kids were served their meals first, which was fine, but our meals did not come for 10-15 minutes. One of our party requested a gluten free dish. The waitress was good about making the necessary notations, but the kitchen totally ignored that and prepared a gluten dish! That is inexcusable. She fixed it, but that was another long delay. It was not pleasant for us all to be eating at different times. The food was fine.

The restaurant is not well-designed for sound. The bar was loud and rowdy and made it impossible to hear on the restaurant side. We were hoping for authentic Mexican based on reviews but the food was poor even for Tex-Mex. We had the Costillas Adobadas... It consisted of fatty pork with supermarket frozen mixed veggies thrown in. The lobster tacos were okay with lots of lobster but the refried beans were puréed mush. The tortilla chops tasted like cardboard. A disappointment.

It's a nice little taste of authentic Mexican food. The salsa verde sauce is excellent. And you have to get some lobster guacamole! The house margarita is by far the best margarita I have had on the Cape. The wait staff needs a little
more time to get it together but otherwise it's a great place to come when you are feeling a little south of the border!

I ate here with some friends, my daughter and her 2 small children. We loved it. We were served by Sandy who was wonderful and took care of the children allowing my daughter to really enjoy her meal! The food was very good, I had prawns and they were lovely but not enough to eat as a main course. My daughter had the mole enchiladas and found them very good. If you like your food very hot, you'll be disappointed although they do provide hot sauce on the table. We found it was just right.

If you enjoy traditional Oaxaca food and not the TexMex version proferred as Mexican food you will truely enjoy this new offering in Eastham. Portions are large and filling, the service is prompt and the menu appears to be evolving as their clientel increases.
