I can not say enough good things about the Fort Hill Bed & Breakfast, though most of my positive comment are about Jean and Gordon Avery. My husband and I chose Fort Hill as our honeymoon spot after reading some positive reviews online, and I have to say it was the best vacation experience I've had. The Inn is beautiful, and perfectly situated in a nice marsh area. We enjoyed walking down to the water for sunrises and sunsets. All the rooms in the Inn were wonderful and cozy. (We stayed in the Emma suite.) Jean's homemade breakfasts each morning were a real treat. We had the pleasure of staying at Fort Hill for 6 nights and I woke up each morning excited to head into the dining room to see what Jean and prepared for us. We had great chats at breakfast with other guests at the Inn. I could keep writing about how much I fell in love with Fort Hill B & B and Jean and Gordon, so I'll just say that I highly recommend this as a premier destination on Cape Cod. Your stay here will be warm and inviting, and you will find the human connection missing in other hotel stays. Besides all this, the location on the Cape is perfect - easy access to all points North and South. My husband and I are going to try to make our trip to Fort Hill B & B and annual treat!

Room Tip: You can't get a bad room here, but the Nantucket Cottage is really a great spot.

We were looking for a B&B for my husband's birthday. It is a rare chance that we getaway without kids. The Fort Hill Bed and Breakfast was perfect - it is situated in one of our favorite areas of the Cape, the home is historical but yet refurbished beatifully and clean, ocean view trails are adjacent to the site for easy access for early morning strolls, the breakfasts were delicious and very filling, and Jean and Gordon are wonderful hosts.

Room Tip: The Emma Suite was just right for us with its separate library and large bathroom. This room is lar...

What first attracted us to the Fort Hill B&B was the location. We jumped at the chance to stay within the Cape Cod National Seashore and we were not disappointed! Fort Hill B&B is a beautifully restored and lovingly maintained small inn. We stayed in the Emma suite which was spacious, quiet and comfortable and felt like home. We will forever remember Jean's creative, delicious breakfasts (and afternoon treats ;-) and Gordon's suggestions for exploring the Cape. We feel so lucky to have discovered Fort Hill B & B....a rare and wonderful find indeed!

The only B&B in the National Seashore, the Fort Hill B&B offers a gentle and elegant stay for those who cherish peace and quiet. Adjacent to the Fort Hill overlook to Nauset Marsh and the Atlantic ocean, one of the Cape's best views, the ambiance is laid=back and comfortable. The suites are spacious and the hosts, Jean and Gordon, give more the feeling of family than hosts.
Highly recommended! Jan and John, WilmIngton, MA

One of the few places on the Cape -- maybe it's the only one -- where you can stay inside the National Seashore preserve. The views at Fort Hill are spectacular, and this Old Cape farmhouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, lives on with grace and charm under the stewardship of Jean and Gordon Avery, who balance perfectly their guests needs for privacy, inside information about the Cape, and a great breakfast. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved Fort Hill Bed & Breakfast! Gordon & Jean were the best! They had some great suggestions on things to see and places to eat while we were on the Cape. The breakfasts were delicious! It was very peaceful and quiet; just what we were looking for. We will definitely make a trip back out to the Cape to stay at Fort Hill again!

"What a beautiful place Fort Hill is. The cottage was so comfortable, the breakfast “out of this world” and the conversations with each of you delightful. Thank you Gordon for the inspiration and advice, maybe this is will be the turning point for us and we can finally move forward. Our first trip to the Cape was simply wonderful! Thanks so much."
