Stick to the burgers. A local hang out. We go when we want a burger and a beer. Nothing to be excited about but rarely crowded which is main reason we go. But don't go very often too many better places around

The atmosphere was great. I loved not being in a chain type restaurant. I had fried whole belly clams and my husband had the lobster role. Both were great. The waiter was sort of crabby (no pun there) but, there was a woman customer there who appeared to be a regular who was so drunk and loud we had to move outside. Awful noisy. Other than that, it was a good experience.

On an little outing on the Cape, we wanted to stop and have a simple lunch but there were few places in Eastham along rt6. We saw Stewart's right at the light with the prospect of nothing else for several miles so we stopped.

The menu has the usual suspects for the Cape, but they were all rather pricey. The fish sandwich probably the least expensive item on the men was $11. We ordered the sandwich and were not disappointed. It was one of the best pieces of fish we had had all week. It was perfectly cooked with a light batter that did not add grease but did let the outstanding flavor of the tender moist fish come through. The fries that are part of it were as well cooked crispy and fresh.

The lunch was a treat of flavors and the outdoor dining was pleasant on the warm Labor Day weekend.

I would definitely try to go back to sample other items from this menu.

We stopped here after spending most of the day at the excellent Wellfleet Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. It had just gone 17.00 so we were the first and only patrons (it was also the week after Columbus weekend) and were greeted with great gusto by the staff on hand. Having spent two weeks in New England and not having had lobster yet we decided to rectify things. The fact that Mac’s Shack Seafood Market was next door with its bursting tanks of fresh crayfish helped make up our minds and we headed onto the terrace to enjoy the last of the sun.

It was the last thing we enjoyed, though to be fair the sauvignon blanc wasn’t bad. The food and service however were. Our waitress was curt, unhelpful and became all the more so when we revised our decision to have the lobster and go for steamers, clam chowder and salad instead. We’ve always enjoyed steamers (as much if not more than lobster perhaps because we associate the dish with New England and because it is that much harder for us to find than lobster) and hadn’t noticed they were on the menu. Maybe we should have stuck with the lobster because while the chowder was OK, the steamers were gross. The broth was water (I didn’t see any type of vegetable floating around in it) and the clams were chewy and sandy. Had it been just a question of average food I would have been willing to give the place another chance but combined with an unpleasant waitress and thundering traffic down the nearby Route 6, it made for a depressing, no, disgusting experience.
