The small parking lot provides the best scenic view on the whole Cape. We go for a least a short visit everytime we're on the Cape. There's also a nice walk thru marsh and woods - but be sure to bring bug spray for that. Nice drive by the Penniman House on the way in. It has a very interesting gate made of 2 whale jaw bones. They're huge!

My family and I love heading out to Fort Hill. They have these great trails through the woods and wooden walkways through the white cedar swamps that lead to rolling pastures overlooking the marsh and ocean. It is truly lovely.

I've been coming to The Cape for years and had never visited here. There are beautiful views of the marshes and Nauset Beach dunes, and nice walking trails. Bring your camera!

We walked one of the trails yesterday that looks over the marsh. It was very beautiful, great picture opportunities, but we forgot the bug spray! Bring bug spray!

Grab a picnic lunch at a local deli and drive to Fort Hill. The views across to the Old Coast Guard Station on one side and into the Nauset Beach area on the other are spectacular. If you are lucky, you may find an artist trying to capture the views on canvas as you do the same with your camera. Take time to hike down the short trail to the edge of the water to fully appreciate what makes the Cape so special. An alternative is an early morning breakfast of coffee and a muffin to see the sunrise. Whenever you arrive at Fort Hill, you won't be disappointed.
