“Decent place, with a nice location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

Spring Garden Inn has a pleasant location overlooking a marsh. Each room has rocking chairs on a porch overlooking a little back garden/lawn area and the marsh beyond. It's a nice area to relax and read a book.

The inside of the inn is less impressive. Overall, it definitely is an older place, and not a sparkly clean environment. We stayed in the Hannah Suite. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, with some fresh made pastries/muffins each day and a good variety of other things to eat.

Overall, it was a decent place to stay, especially with the discounted Groupon rate, though it could use some updating.

spring garden inn is a quaint little roadside in on the historic 6a on Cape Cod, located in beautiful East Sandwich. This is hands down the cutest, most charming " motel" I have ever been too. Inn keeper Jessie is wonderful, and the rooms and views from the back porch beautiful while you are sipping your morning coffee with muffin. I can't wait to return next year!

We found this motel online and decided to give it a try as its location was near all the family attractions we wanted to visit. That and we also liked the small garden on site and the outdoor patio overlooking the marshlands. We got there and were able to get a balcony room with our well behaved two year old son. The room fit our needs, being a family of three and the theme is that of a small b&b without the high price. The room comes with a mini fridge, flatscreen tv, coffee maker, private bathroom and AC. There is a small closet and a bureau for unpacking your vacation clothes. Several windows makes for a great view of the new england feel balcony and grounds. Breakfast options are available from 8-10am and there's an inground pool across the parking lot. It was a little chilly (not heated), but fine for us :) The owner is a sweet woman who brought us extra towels within an hour of being there. All the guests were quiet, which is our cup of tea. Definitely a tranquil experience and met all of our needs. We will be going back anytime we decide to take a weekend family trip!

Room Tip: Room number 1 is right next to the office. You may hear the owner's dogs bark once in a while, b...

Spring Garden was in our New England guidebook. However there was a No Vacancy sign - we decided to try anyway. Linda, a delightful hostess, said there was 1 room left but previous family had spilt something on carpet ( couldn't see it , & I am fussy). It was such a gorgeous setting. Loved the decor. So clean & inviting. Breakfast was basic - lovely fresh bread, juice & coffee. We travelled all over New England for nearly 3 weeks & this was our very favourite place. The price was good. Definitely stay again. Hope you enjoyed the book Linda.

Room Tip: All rooms excellent.

About as plain as they get, a little shabby (though not entirely). Very inexpensive.

No clock. One wastebasket. Sink plug didn’t work. WiFi wouldn’t connect. But it was clean and the mini-fridge, A/C, shower were all fine. Pleasant staffer at the desk. Beds were a little soft for my taste, but fine for a 2-night stay.

This Very Good rating is mostly because of the price..

Room Tip: Some rooms have a light outside the window which is hard to block. Some face away from the road, so...

The pluses: I found this place perfectly relaxing, especially for the price. The view out the back was tremendous, and Linda the inkeeper was lovely and very accommodating. My room, #1, right next to the office, was large and had wood paneled walls, lots of lighting, a decent flat screen TV, mini-fridge and other nice little touches. It was also immaculately clean.

The not-so-pluses: My bed was soft. Like, REALLY soft. Too soft. And I'm not that picky about beds. The walls are very thin, so I heard a lot of conversations word-for-word going on in the office, as well as the TV in the next room over. But I always travel with earplugs, and in any case it was very quiet at night.

The complimentary toiletries were the most basic brands possible. The breakfast was toast, or a small store brand blueberry muffin. And orange juice, and the coffee was not great. Jazzing up those little details would make this place nicer, but then again, they were only small details. The view, price, cleanliness and inkeeper outweighed the negatives for me, and so I wish I could have stayed longer, and I'd surely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this great little motel. We have a 6 month old baby. The motel provided a very clean pack n play for her to sleep in. It was a better pack n play than we have used at high-end hotels - the mattress boards were lightly padded. We stayed in the Sailor's Rest - a small efficiency that had plenty of room for two adults and a baby. It was very quiet - we could not hear the traffic from the road. We were glad to have the little kitchen (note that there is no oven), however with the great breakfast provided in the motel office we didn't need to do much but use the fridge and microwave. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room clean. Best of all, though, was the setting. The door to our room opened up onto the back lawn - a beautiful, peaceful well shaded lawn furnished with chairs, picnic tables and a hammock. The motel sits right on a marsh that borders a river, and we could see people kayaking and enjoying the water as we sat on our patio. We wished we could have spent more time at the motel enjoying the great back yard. At night a family staying there grilled their dinner and started a bonfire - we would have done the same had we stayed longer, but we were visiting relatives in the area and were busy each evening. The management & staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place for a family vacation! I can't say enough good things about this place.
